Over You

Hours Before

Reba unlocked the bathroom door and walked back to the kitchen , she sat down and continued to drink her smoothie " Reba do you wanna come out shopping with us , we are going to look at some horses" Reba thought for a minute " What time will we be back " Tracy looked at her watch " Well we are leaving at 11 and it's 9 now , we also have to stop and get some lunch and than come back so we should be home about 7".

" I can't go , I uh need to work on the Album" Reba didn't look Tracy in the eyes she avoided her eyes , Tracy sat down and told Tia to go to the living room " Reba why are you so distant , what is going on seriously tell me whats going on " , Reba looked at Tracy and said " look I'm just busy with the album that's all " Tracy stood up "You are being super strange , just please try and spend some time with Tia at least , you can stay distant from me but Tia needs you she has been going through a lot , she told me she wants you to talk to".

Reba walked into the living room and asked Tia if she wanted to go for a walk " Aunt Reba sure lets go for a walk " Reba and Tia walked out the door " Tracy I'll have her back around 10:30" Tracy screamed out the window " It's okay , take the time you need , just be back by 11". Reba walked down the road to a creek with Tia and they sat down beside each other. " Tia your Mama said you wanted to talk to me , whats going on Darlin" , Tia couldn't look her aunt in the eye she just kept playing with the cuffs of her shirt "Darlin whats wrong , you now you can tell me anything " Reba moved closer to Tia.

" Aunt Reba it's hard , I don't know how to say it " Tia started to cry " Darlin try your best and you don't need to cry " Reba whipped away Tia's tears" Aunt Reba , the man who raped me got 2 years , everyone keeps telling me that's a good thing because he deserved it for what he did to me , when everyone says that they make me feel like I'm stupid for feeling the way I do , I didn't want him to go to jail , I somehow loved him , I somehow don't hate him I just want him to have gotten help not be sent to jail , I didn't want to be a monster like him and everyone makes me feel like I'm wrong for feeling that way". Reba grabbed Tia's hand and put it in her lap" Darlin he made his choices , but regardless of how others think it is your opinion , and no one should be trying to impact or change how you think or feel , if they are they aren't people that you should be hanging around with or talking to".

" Aunt Reba in court , my heart broke I found out he was sexually assaulted when he was younger by an older brother , the judge just brushed it off like it was nothing , how can someone do that". Reba grabbed a hold of Tia and hugged her tightly " Darlin I had no idea you were so hurt , I knew it was hard for you to deal with it , but I didn't know that you were feeling like people were treating you like you were stupid , honey I love you and so does your mama"
