I slithered out of bed like a snake, grabbing my phone as I went. I looked around he room to see that it was too dark to be daytime. I flipped open my phone to see it was eleven. Gosh darn it. Ever since then I haven't been able to sleep properly. My phone vibrated, my diary talking to me. I checked what the diary had to say.
It's best to get going now. During sunrise, we can slowly get accustomed to the sun, hopefully.
"Hopefully," I grumbled. I'm honestly a little worried. I haven't seen the light of day for over ten years. My beloved and I had beaten everyone but ourselves in that horrific nightmare I will never forget. We went into hiding after that. Her, five. Me, three. I have absolutely no idea how we did it, but we survived together in this house till my beloved died of an illness I was completely unaware of. I still remember her sad smile as I watched her slowly disappear like everyone else had. I still remember her promise. There was a loud beep that broke me from my thoughts. I hadn't noticed, but I had walked into the room my beloved used the most. I gulped loudly. Another beep filled the room. I couldn't help but look down at my diary.
Get her diary. We'd literally die from the inside out if we came back and her diary was gone. I nodded my head and picked up the bag that had once been seated on my beloved's shoulder, making sure to check that her phone, her conscious, was in there. Once I found it, I flipped it open. At first, it didn't turn on. However, after a minute or two, or even an hour, I could never tell when it came to her, a white light came on. Text flashed across the screen, the black letters making me smile.
                              You were never a sleeper.
"Hi," I whispered, a large grin on my face.
What's going on? There's an intensity to you. That and you're wearing my shoulder bag.
"The game has begun once again. I wanted to make sure you were still here."
I'll always be here baby. Kisses.
                              "Kisses," I whispered.
Get going baby. Go as far as you can in the dark. You'll need it.
I shoot the screen an odd look before nodding my head and closing the phone, putting it in my pocket. She always knows what's going to happen. It's best to follow her warnings. I put my phone in my other pocket, walking to my kitchen. I pick up a knife, some water bottles, and a couple of snack bags and put them in the shoulder bag. With that, I pick up my keys off the counter, about to head out when my phone vibrates. I whip it out and flip it open.
Write a letter. Murumuru will panic if we don't.
I nod my head and quickly write a letter explaining my sudden disappearance. That girl will not be happy. It's not like she can pinpoint my location like she can with everyone else who ever played this horrific game. Nah, I can already smell the anger I'll receive for this. Once I'm done writing my letter, I put it where I know she'll see it and walk to unlock my front door. I take a deep breath before pulling my door open and walk out. I close the door, locking it, before turning around. I gasp quietly when I see a whole bunch of trees making up a forest. No way. When the heck did this happen? Did my beloved do this when she said she needed some privacy? No way, she said she never went outside after we first entered the home. She couldn't have lied, right? I shoved those demanding thoughts aside and began walking through the woods that most definitely had not been here before we had entered my humble abode. Warily, I walked through the forest. I'm not good at telling time without looking at a clock, but I was one hundred percent sure I had been walking for at least an hour when I reached a clearing. In the clearing was a small park. At the end of the park was a road that had once been simply grass and dirt. I took another deep breath before walking out into the open. The park was illuminated with a bright lamp nearby. Next to the lamp was a semi large clock. I checked it to see I had been walking around that woods for about four hours. I pulled out my phone. "Where am I supposed to go?" I whispered.
