Skylar's POV

I stood in the middle of the hall starring at Ethan waiting for his next move. I was kinda scared, was he gonna beat the crap out of me again?

I wanted to just walk into my room and leave this awkward situation behind but that's a little hard since I'm on crutches.

He furrowed his eyebrows. I could see the anger rising under his skin. He scoffed, walking past me bumping into my shoulder.

The force of his bump made me fall to the ground cause I'm unstable. I watch as he goes down the stairs and out of view.

I take this opportunity to try and get up and go to my room.

I finally managed to get to my room and close the door. I sat on my bed and examined everything closely.

It looks just like it did before i left... untouched. I heard a knock on my door, making me jump from the sudden sound.

"Come in..." I watch as the door opens and Gray is standing there with a worried look.

"Sky are you ok? I heard a loud thump and then Ethan came storming down the stairs and left." I smiled.

"Yeah I'm fine Gray don't worry..." I giggled so he would believe my act but really I wasn't fine. I'm scared to be in this house.

I know what Ethan's capable of and I kind of left on bad terms.

"Ok well do you need anything?" He smiled making my insides tingle.

"No but thank you." I looked down at my hands soon feeling the space beside me sink in.

"Sky what's wrong?" I looked up to meet his serious yet concerning face.

"To be honest Gray... I don't know..."

"You know you can talk to me princess... I'll always be here for you!" A smile crept on my face as he made my insides feel warm and tingly.

"Gray what are we...? Like where do we stand?" I looked back down at my hands, nervous of his response. I felt his hand move to my cheek and he turned my head gently towards him, being cautious not to hurt me.

"We are whatever you want us to be baby girl..." He gave me a reassuring smile. I looked into his eyes, they were so soft and comfort looking.

He started leaning in slowly, making the tension rise. I hadn't noticed I started leaning in too. What am I doing? It's like I can't control my body, it's having a mind of its own.

Whenever I'm around him my body loses its mind and conscious.

I was knocked out of my thoughts by his lips connecting to mine, making my stomach explode with butterflies.

It's been so long since I felt his soft plump lips against mine. Our lips moved in sync, making the kiss more intense. I love this I never want this to end.

I felt a cool gust of wind as he pulled away from my lips making me pout. I opened my eyes meeting his beautiful hazel ones. His smile seem to make the whole room light up.

"Just think about it... I'm going downstairs, just yell if you need anything princess." He kissed my forehead and got up, making the bed rise up again. He gently closed the door and his footsteps faded.

I got situated on my bed and got comfortable. All I could do was think, think, and think. What the hell is happening to my life.

I was just In California with my beautiful family that I love so dearly, and now I'm here in Pennsylvania where I faced death in the eye!

How could this physically happen, especially to me?! Like my life is so average and boring why me?!

Soon my thinking started to vanish as darkness started to take over...

***

My door flew open as I jolted awake to the sudden noise. The darkness shielded their face so I couldn't make out their identity.

They stormed over to my bed and tackled me back. They were on top of me making it hard to breath because of their weight.

Their hands came in contact with my throat as they began to tighten their grip. I started to struggle under their grip trying to get loose.

I tried to yell but nothing came out. All I heard was a loud ringing, almost piercing like. Soon enough my vision started to adjust and their face came into view.

Ethan?

I felt a tear fell down my cheek as my body fell limp, I couldn't fight anymore. Shadows started to fade in to sight as I stare him in the eye.

I knew this was the end, I was dying, he was suffocating me. So this is what death feels like?

My lungs feel like their on fire as my eyes water from fear, lack of air, and shock. My vision starts to become unclear as my body becomes numb.

Soon that fire fades, along with everything else. There's nothing left, as I stare death in the eye once more, but this time, it's reality...

My eyes shed one more tear as my body sinks into the bed, releasing all its tension it was holding.

My chest heaves up and down releasing my last breathe as darkness permanently takes over.
