Dylan barely gets any sleep. She kept waking up due to the burning pain in her leg.

The next morning she looks at the wound closer, she see that there's an entrance and an exit wound, meaning the bullet went right through. She smilies at this.

"Oh thank god." Dylan mutters to herself. She looks around for anything she can use as a crutch for right now. She sees a cane and scoots over to it.

She gets to the cane and lifts herself up. She looks down at Charlotte, who's still asleep, hugging her bear. Dylan feels slightly content.

She makes her way into the other room, looking for anything that could be helpful.

Dylan finds herself in the room Charlotte had been in last night. She studies the guns, bows, and knifes. Then it hits her: she stabbed somebody.

"Oh no." Dylan falls to the ground, tears welling up in her eyes.

No, they were bad. They were going to hurt us.

Dylan's mind races.

That doesn't matter, you hurt somebody. Maybe even killed them.

But I had to, I had to save Charlotte.

You didn't have to.

"STOP IT!" Dylan yells aloud. She wipes the tears from her face and stands up, hoping she didn't wake Charlotte up.

She goes behind the counter, picking up a pistol. Never having hold one, it was heavier then she thought.

She finds out how to take the magazine out and sees that it's empty. Dylan looks around for and kind of bullets.

After a few minutes of looking, she doesn't find anything.

"Shit." Dylan says, looking at the bow and arrows. "That'll have to do."

She picked the bow up, slings it over her shoulder and then gets the quiver with about 15 arrows and puts that on her shoulder too.

Dylan turns to the knife selection, she picks a rather large but light knife and slides it into her pocket.

"Better have one then not." She picks up the pistol with no bullets.

She limps back over to the room that Charlotte was sleeping in. She sits down and drops all of her new stuff.

Dylan rummages through her bag to see if she still had bandages, she didn't.

Dylan decides to wait for Charlotte to wake up, she takes out a book and reads to pass the time.

"Hello?" A man with ratty looking clothes steps into the room. "Is there anybody here?"

Dylan tries to stand up but is unable. She grabs the gun and points it at the man.

"No wait, don't shoot." The man puts his hands up. "I'm not going to hurt you."

"Who are you?" Dylan says, trying to ignore the pain in her leg. "What do you want?"

"Nothing, I'm just looking around for food and such." The man step further into the room, his eyes widen when as he sees the blood on Dylan's pants. "Are you okay?" He move quickly, kneeling down next to Dylan's leg, he reaches into his bag.

"What are you doing?" Dylan's shouts as she raises the gun.

"Please don't, I can help." He takes out a small camp stove and a jar of honey.

"What is this? How will this help?" Dylan's asks, scooting away from the man.

"I'll heat the honey and it'll cauterize the wound and stop the bleeding. You should also take that belt off, don't want your leg to die." He says turning the camp stove on, puts a small pan on it, and pours honey into it.

"How do you know this?" Dylan asks, removing the belt.

"I was a doctor before everything happened. Not a traditional method, but it works." He sits flat on the ground. "So, what's your name?"

"I'm Dylan, this is Charlotte." Dylan points to Charlotte as she sleeps. "Who are you?"

"My name is Jay." He says, as he lights a cigarette.

"Are you sure you should be smoking?"

"Don't worry, I've done it since college. I'll make sure I don't blow any smoke your way."

"Thanks, I guess."

"Now, this is going to hurt." Jay picks up the pan up. "You may want to bite your belt."

Dylan puts her belt in her mouth and gets ready for pain. Jay lifts her pants up and pour the boiling honey into the wound.

"Mother fucker!" Dylan's screams into the belt.

"Sorry, but it'll stop the bleeding. Now we can sew it up." He pulls out a needle and string.

"What is it made of?" Dylan asks, tears welling in her eyes.

"Collagen." Jay responds tying the thread to the needle.

"Which is?"

"It's animal intestine. It's kinda gross, but it'll be dissolved into you skin."

After Jay finishes sewing Dylan's leg up they talk about what they did before everything happened.

Jay offers to travel with Dylan and Charlotte and provide any help he can.

Dylan agrees and they wait for Charlotte to wake up so that they can go into the city.
