Ch.14

"He seemed really down! He didn't even want to eat my chocolates!" I pouted slightly.
"Maybe he's tired? I mean being a CGB officer is bound to get you a few bruises" Uta responded casually.
"Hey! Let's go visit!"
"Are you sure thats a goo-"
"He's my brother! He won't mind!"
I was already on my feet and dashing into the kitchen.
"Whatcha doin now, (Y/n)?" Uta asked leaning against the wall.
"I'm going to make his favourite soup! ... Or at least try to... I've never really done made it before." I admitted sheepishly.

I looked down at the bubbling concoction inside the pot.
"Well... Is it ok?" Uta asked.
"I mean it smells great..."
"How does it taste ?"
"Uhhh..... I'm a little a-afraid to try it.... B-but let's go! Ha..ha"
With an eyeroll Uta led me out to the car.

"Andddd turn to the left!" I finised the directions happily.
"Alright, let's go" Uta parked and we stepped out.
But by the time I got to the door, the house seemed too quiet... Perhaps they weren't home!
"Ugh this place stinks a lil!" Uta said sniffing the air.
I laughed at the way he grimaced.
"Hey Uta! You're taller than me, can you peek through the kitchen window?" I asked pointing in the window's direction.
"Sure" He walked over to the side and raised himself slightly on his toes.
After a moment of prolonged silence, I leaned to look at Uta who retreated away from the window.
"So was he there?" I asked.
"...Let's go home.."
"What? Is Yuse not home?" I asked confused.
Without any words, Uta got me into the car and drove home.
Still not speaking to me he sat me on the couch.
He held my hands and looked me in my eyes.
Behind the shades he wore, I saw his black and red eyes glance down frequently.
"(Y/n), what I saw, in that window, can only mean one thing... So you need to trust me when I say this.."
"What are you talking about?!"  I really didn't understand, why was he so serious? What's even going on? W-

"(Y/n), I'm not sure how this happened, but your brother is a ghoul."
