"So let me get this straight. He flat out asked you for your number and your rejected him! HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO ME!" I'm very confused now.

"HOW DOES THIS AFFECT YOU?!"

"This affects me because I don't think I'm going to get the chance to watch my friend finally fall in love."

"I just met him, I didn't fall in love with him." Khrystyna is always making a big deal about absolutely nothing and I let her get away with it. It's now 11:30am and we got here at 7:30am. Time flies!

Anyway, Khrystyna and I are now putting on shorts, out shoes, and we are about to go to the pier. We always get ice cream and watch people fish whenever we go to the pier. It gives us a chance to talk and relax somehow.

As we were walking on the sidewalk, these three 12 year olds came up to me star struck and asked for a picture. I took a picture with them and talked to them like a normal person. Khrystyna took the picture and the girls also wanted a picture with Khrystyna. That's a first.

Once we were done, a lot of boys started checking us out and all we did was laugh. Once we entered, we went straight for the ice cream.

I ordered my usual plain small sized chocolate ice cream in a cup. Khrystyna thinks I'm too basic but I like chocolate. I know what y'all are thinking, Khrystyna isn't that good of a friend. Y'all might be thinking that but she is the greatest friend anyone could ask for. She teases me a lot and embarrasses me but she does it in a sisterly way.

Anyway, Khrystyna got a medium Heavenly Hazelnut ice cream in a cup. She is less basic and gets all types of ice creams. Once we got our ice cream and paid for it, we went into the pier.

Surprisingly, there weren't that many people outside yet. It may only be 11:30, but it's 95 degrees outside right now. We walked all the way to the end and started looking out over the water.

"So, how's your dad? How is his career?"

"Considering he has been super famous ever since he won an award for his horror film, he leaves at 5:30am and doesn't get home until 11:30pm. It sucks but sometimes, he leaves later so that he can take me with him."

"Have you ever met any of the actors or actresses?"

"I have met a couple of the actors and actresses, and they all tell me that my dad is pretty harsh. They say since he tries to get home earlier to see me, he yells at them constantly to do things right the first time and I always feel like it's my fault. Your the first one I've ever told."

Right after I said that, Khrystyna gave me a huge hug! I haven't felt one of those hugs since I cried because I got dumped. She let go and gave me a very sympathetic look. Then she hugged me again.

"Anyway, how's YOUR dad?" I asked. I asked her that because last I heard, her father was in the hospital.

"Not well. He has cancer and is expected to live for 5 more months. I go to visit him everyday I can."

Right after she said that, I cut her off and gave HER a huge hug. I cut her off because I could tell she was about to start crying. After she broke the hug, she started crying and that made me start crying.

I was complaining about how I never get to see my dad when in a few months, she might not even have one. I feel awful about complaining about how I don't get to see my family and she won't have a full family.

It was this moment that I realized how lucky I am to have my parents. I really want to be there for Khrystyna. Correction, I will be there for her. She is my best friend and I refuse to leave her at a time like this.
