"Hi, my name is Loren, I'm 18 and I love singing, swimming, cheerleading, animals, and social media. I make sure I post something twice a day on Instagram, twitter, Facebook, musically, Snapchat, YouTube, and I make sure I go live on you now at least once a week. My love for swimming started at the beach and-"
"Let me stop you right there. So, why do you love social media so much? I mean, in my opinion, social media is a waste of time."
I froze for a good 20 seconds. My mind went blank. I didn't know whether or not I should tell the truth and say that I have a very good chance of going on digi tour as long as keep on updating or if I should lie and just say it's a good way for me to express myself. I looked over at Khrystyna and she gave me a nod signaling that I should tell the truth.
"Well, there is this thing called digi tour and the people that go in digi tour are super active on social media. It's a good way for me to express myself and for other people to express themselves without as much criticism as they would get around people they know. I've been to a digi tour show and the vibe was so amazing. I met so many people and performers and I know that those people make me happy. I want to be a person that makes everyone feel like a someone."
"That is a great answer. Now, you may continue," Mr. Adams said.
"Thank you, as I was saying, my love for swimming began at the beach when I was a little girl. I always felt like the water was my safe place and when I was swimming or surfing or just touching the water, nothing else existed or mattered except that exact moment. The reason I love singing is because, well, I think I can sing and I have gotten compliments on my singing before so it's always been a very big part of my life."
"Can you sing something for us?"
Of course, he interrupts me once again. If he wasn't hot and nice and smart and charming, this would be my least favorite teacher.
"Sure. I'll sing titanium by David guetta," I said. "Well, I'll sing up to the chorus."
You shout it out
But I can't hear a word you say
I'm talking loud not saying much
I'm criticized but all your bullets ricochet
You shoot me down, but I get upI'm bullet proof nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down
But I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down
But I won't fall
I am titaniumOnce I finished the last word, everyone started clapping for me and I gave a slight smile. I swear, I could feel my cheeks turning red as I looked at everyone for the first time after singing.
"Anything else?" Mr. Adams asked.
"Yes, as I was saying, I love cheerleading because seeing the girls on the field was really cool. I wanted to know how they do it and that's when I started cheering. At first it was hard because I had never done anything like it before. As time went on, I got better and stronger and even lost some weight. Last year I started being a flyer and it has been scary but fun. Finally, I want to talk about my love for animals. I love animals because they are so interesting. They are in their own little world all of the time and we kill them for selfish reasons. They are cute, ugly, majestic, and ferocious. I don't know, I just have always loved them and always will."
Once I finished the last sentence, everyone started clapping and the teacher gave me a look that I can't even describe. Don't get me wrong, it's a good look, I just, it's so amazing that I have butterflies in my stomach and am speechless.
I walk back to my seat and Khrystyna gives me an excited look. Of course, she noticed the look and my reaction. I guess she's over Adam.
That's kind of funny. I ran into a guy named Adam and am flirting with a teacher named Adams. I can't believe that I just figured that out. The rest of the class period was just introductions and Mr. Adams giving every girl that upsettingly charming smile.
In a way, I'm kind of jealous and really upset that he is giving very girl that gorgeous smile. I'm starting to worry if this is more than a crush.
Is that even possible? I just met the guy. In fact, he could have a wife or girlfriend.
Well, there has the possibility of love at first sight.
But that only happens in fairy tales and this shit is real life!
I was thinking so much that I didn't hear the bell ring and I was still in my seat when the last person filed out of the room.
"You ok?" Mr. Adams asked me.
I froze once again. My mind went blank and all I could think about is how we are together, alone, in the same room. In 1 full second my mind caught up with reality and I responded:
"Yeah, just lost in thought."
"Ok. I just wanted to make sure you were ok."
"So, how has your first day come so far?" I inquired.
I wanted to change the subject and since I got all of my college credits, and have a free period now, I can go home.
I did say that I picked all advanced classes, but right before summer ended, I got a call from the principal saying that I have all of my college credits for ever class except this one and asked me if I would like to change my schedule. I agreed to change my schedule and made my second class a free period. I need two classes at least per year so that's why I chose a free period.
"My day's been pretty good so far and I'd love to stay and talk, but don't you have to get to class?" Mr. Adams is so sweet and ever time I here his voice, I just want to sing Hallelujah!
"Actually, I have a free period and then I'm leaving," I replied.
"Oh! Well, my next class is the period after this so if you want you can stay here and talk with me. It's nice to have someone to talk to." Mr. Adams stated.
I kind of understand that. Sometimes I don't have anyone to talk to and I feel kind of alone. I don't want him to feel like that.
"Yeah, I get not wanting to be alone. So, can I call you by your first name?" I requested. He looked reluctant by caved in.
"I guess since we're not in class it's ok, but when your in class, you call me Mr. Adams," he declared.
"Ok, Anikin. I'm guessing your named after Anikin Skywalker?" I questioned.
"Yeah, my dad is literally obsessed with Star Wars and was overjoyed when he had a boy. Anikin is his favorite character and when my mom almost didn't let him name me Anikin, he was about to get a divorce with her. That's how much this meant to him."
"Seriously?!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah."
Anikin ran his fingers through his beautiful dark hair and looked down at his desk a little. He was giving me a shy smile and looked at me with his beautiful brown chocolate chip eyes.
My face got as hot as fire and so I looked away. I felt my cheeks turn red and we both started laughing.
"So, what's something about you that I don't know?" Mr. Adams is trying to get close to me and he knows I know it.
"Well, I was on the Voice last month and the next show is tomorrow in the downtown auditorium."
"Wait, wait, wait? Are you still on the Voice?" Mr. A-, sorry, Anikin, looked very confused.
"Yes, the rest of the auditions just finished so I'm gonna be on the show for the rest of the season." I'm very excited and I think that he looks the same way.
"That's pretty cool," Anikin stated.
For the rest of the period all we did was talk and when the other class walked in. I could tell they were jealous plus confused.
Anikin and I just laughed, I grabbed my stuff, and left. I looked back and saw through someone's mirror that Anikin is leaning over his desk trying to get a good glance of me while biting his lip.
He then realized the whole class was watching and got back into teacher mode. Now I'm worried that this isn't a crush. I think I like this guy.
And this guy likes me.
