"Hey, Zee!" Rylan called. "We got you a coupla newbies!"

Zee started to get up, but Draven pulled her back down.

"Sorry, Dray. Gotta do my job." She kissed him and left.

She went to meet and greet Rylan and Jareth and the two new-comers.

She looked around. "Hey, where's Calixto?"

"Oh, yeah, he's still out there doing what he does. We separated from him fifteen minutes after leaving here," Jareth explained.

The two new members looked confused. A girl and a boy. They looked similar, siblings maybe? Zee turned towards them. "Hi, I'm Zee."

This was what she usually had to do, play tour guide.

"So, I'm not sure how much they told you, but it's better if you listen to the whole story from the beginning."

The girl looked eager, the boy looked lost.

"So, you can say we have a religion of our own. It's not so much a religion as it is a way of life. We don't choose this, they choose us. We have one main diety, so to speak, Uthlian. He's the god of Arcane. His arch enemy is Korali, she's goddess of Death. So, the story is that Korali is bringing back humans from the verge of Death, but they're not human anymore. We're not sure what they are exactly, but you can think of them as something between zombies, vampires and cannibals. And that's where we come in --"

"You mean I'm turning into a zombie?" the girl asked. "No, no, no. I don't want to."

"No," Zee explained,"you're not turning into a zombie, we all aren't. So, as I was saying, Uthlian thinks what Korali's doing is really, really wrong. Now that's where we come in. Uthlian is Marking us with Arcane runes. You've probably noticed yours. Once we're Marked, our hair and eyes start changing. This means we're controlling a small part of Arcane, for example, I control light and sight. We have all this because Uthlian wants us to fight against Korali's changed humans.

"That's why we're all here. We can't stay with our families anymore for several reasons. The main one is that we're dangerous, especially since we don't know how to fully contorl our power. In some of our cases, it 'runs in the family' so we're prepared to have to run away if it ever happens. For some of us, we actually already harmed our families so we have nowhere to go. Some of us were kidnapped. Yes, I know that's illegal, but most of what we do is illegal anyway; we don't have a choice.

Zee looked at the two, they seemed engrossed in her wild story.

"Well, now that that's all cleared up, we have to get to know each other seeing as we're going to pretty much be surviving together. Like I said before, I'm Zee. It's short for Anastázie, but nobody bothers with that, thus we have Zee."

A pause. The girl spoke first, "I'm Kay. Short for Kaylinda, but I don't like it. Just call me Kay."

They waited for the boy to introduce himself, but he kept quiet. Kay spoke again, "This is my brother, Drystan." She gestured at him as she spoke. "You can call him that or just Drys. He's kinda shy, as you can see."

"Well, nice to meet you both. Now I'll have to tell you about everyone else.

They passed by Mel and Rylan first. Mel was patching him up while he babbled about something, most likely the newbies.

"That girl's Mel, team medic," Zee said. "And that guy's --"

"Rylan," Kay said. "He told us."

"Good. Rylan is the self-appointed 'leader' because he's the one who figured all this out along with Jareth. They've been best friends since, like, sixth grade. Or so they tell me. Rylan's power is Earth and wood," Zee explained.
