Iris looked at the large couch in front of her. Presley and some peace-keepers had escorted her, Chad, and Odis to the luxury room they were staying in until the Games. Presley had them sit on the couch to tell them something. "Iris, Odis," she started, "meet your stylists for the Games!" At these words, 6 people stepped into the space from the door.
"Hello," a capitol lady with heavy makeup on started. "I am Eifa, your stylist." She looked at Iris when she said that, so she knew that Eifa was her stylist. Two other stylists stepped out with her. Eifa gestured to the man first and said, "This is Eddison." Eddison waved. Presley continued, "And this is Tyler," she said, gesturing to another woman. She waved. "He is a very great stylist," Eifa said. Iris looked at Tyler in a confusing way, realizing that Tyler classified as a boy.
Three more stylists stepped up and introduced themselves to Chad. After they finished, Presley stepped forward. "Now, your stylists need to take measurements and ideas for your costumes for the opening cereminy," she said. Eifa gestured for Iris to follow them. She got up and walked with them to a room with mirrors all around them. Iris looked at herself from all four angles. "Now, its time to take measurements," Eifa said. Iris shuddered.
She found herself stripped down and standing in the room of mirrors, while the stylists took her measurements. "So..." She started awkwardly, "what is the outfit plan going to be?" Eifa looked at her intently and answered, "I was thinking of replicating the process of pollination. After all, it is how flowers and plants reproduce, and District 11 is about agriculture." Tyler nodded. "I was thinking of adding an effect to replicate pollen falling from your costume," he said. "Yes, that would be outstanding! On the shoulder area of her dress, their should be petals hanging down from it. It will give the effect of a flower," Eddison said. "After all, she is Iris!" They all laughed. Iris just stood there awkwardly.
After the measurements, she decided to watch her stylists make her outfit and brainstorm. They were working away quickly, and Eifa was talking with Finn, Chad's main stylist. They seemed to be sharing the ideas of the outfits. Iris heard them say words such as "it replicates," or "District 11." She sighed and walked up to Tyler.
"So, how is it going?" Iris asked him. "It's good. We have decided to give you a long, yellow dress and a beautiful clear cape that drops pollen as it flies in the wind. I am currently working on the cape and its techniques," Tyler said. Iris nodded. She saw a sample bucket of pollen sitting beside the fabric they had prawled out on the floor and some crazy technical stuff that she didn't understand. "How long will this take?" Iris asked. He replied with, "It will be done in time for the opening ceremony." Iris slowly nodded again and walked towards the couch. She sat down with Chad.
"What's your plan for the games?" Iris asked. Chad shook his head. "So, you really believe I will share that information with you?" He said. Iris drew back, only to be greeted by Chad laughing. "I plan to ally with you, if that is okay," he answered. Iris breathed a sigh of relief. "Yeah, why wouldn't I ally?" Iris replied.
Odis walked up to them. "After the opening ceremony tomorrow, you will be taken to the training room, where you will meet the other tributes and practice. You know there is absolutely no fighting before the Games, so don't even think of it," he said. Iris nodded. "Well," Presley said, butting in to the conversation, "you two should get some rest. You have a big day tomorrow; it is the ceremony!" Iris and Chad nodded and headed for their rooms.
When Iris lay in bed, she couldn't help but thinking of the Games. She would be forced to hurt her best friend. But she hoped the alliance would last, for after it, one of them would have to die.
