I sat in the back seat of their small car. The woman driving looked older she had her hair in a special bun and wore a different kimono. She had no facial makeup nor was her neck painted. You could see stressed wrinkles on her face so she obviously still must wear it now and then. She still had a face like an angel a unforgettable deep brown colored eyes. She had a small scar on the left side of her lip. It didn't look so bad. You couldn't see it much from the back seat. The woman spoke slowly "welcome to kyoto young lady." she took a small bow and started driving. We must of past 3 temples. Driving in such a peaceful place with beautiful scenery. We drove for about 30 minutes. Traffic was light. Most people had been walking to their destinations. We stopped outside of a small cobble stone street. There were small tea houses lining the far back side of the ally. The street had small shops and diners. All of them lit a lantern reading calming words. They lit up the small street turning dark. The youngest of the few lead the way twards the middle of the street with a maiko/Geisha home. It's lantern read the word "Sensuality" you entered the door the house had a scent of herbal spices. It was made of dark wood that made it seem more peaceful. The designs were simple yet far different from America. They began taking their shoes off bowing to the elder "どうもありがとう" (much thanks) one by one they would say walking to their rooms. I did the same. The elder looked to me gripping "you don't need to do that. Your not a maiko nor my Geisha Daughter" she let go of my shoulder. "Follow" she walked me through a hallway to a small room in the back of the house. "Tomorrow you have school. Sleep well." Atleast i ate at the airport. The room looked so plain. There was a mirror and a small closet. I didnt bother With the closet. I just left my stuff in the suitcase. I turned off the lights laying on the floor in the small japanese bed. I fell asleep quickly to be awoken by a chime of a japanese instrument. I instantly recognized the geisha and maiko must be practising. I stood up gathering my school outfit they sent to me back in America and grabbed my tooth brush running to get ready. I walked downstairs nervous. Day one. Thought you heard someone talking. To your suprise you leaned over from behind the wall peeking into the kitchen area. Their we're two geisha speaking. "Do you believe she is going to try and be a maiko? She knows she can't." The other shrugged. Just then my leg gave in and i fell. Both girls immediately notice. "Are you alright?" she walks over helping me up. "Oh my you may be late. You need to start walking to school" i bow "どうもありがとう" (much thanks) i ran out the door quickly. I can not be late. Its only the first day.
