It was Wednesday already. Lily's track meet was today! I couldn't wait. I'd been thinking about it all day.
When school was over and I got to the track meet, there was a lot more people there than I expected. They filled up all of the bleachers. I looked for Lily but I never found her. She was probably still in the locker room. I went to go get some lemonade at the concession stand when I heard the bang of a blank gun. The meet had started! I had to hurry up and go find Lily! I rushed over to the bleachers and found her running on the track. She was taking the lead!
"GO LILY GO!!!" We all cheered her on as she ran past everyone like it was nothing.
"And Lily Williams takes the lead for SouthWest High School!" the announcer called when the race ended.
I'm so happy that she found a place to fit in. I wanted her to be happy.
"Lily!" I called to get her attention, "Great job!"
She smiled and gave me a thumbs up.
After the meet, Lily and I went to get some frozen yogurt, We didn't win, but we came in second place and that's an awesome start for the season.
"You did amazing, Lily. Good job," I told her.
She smiled, "Thank you so much. That really means a lot, and thank you for coming."
"You're welcome. Let me know when the other meets are. I want to come to those too."
Lily liked to smile a lot. When she smiled it made me smile. Lily Williams makes me so happy, no one has ever made me this happy before. Then it came out. I couldn't stop it.
"Lily would you like to be my girlfriend?"
I have never been so embarrassed and awkward in my life.
"I'm so sorry I couldn't stop it, it just came out. I'm so-"
"Yes," She replied.
"Wait what?" I'm going crazy. I'm imagining things. There's no way.
"I'd love to. You're an amazing person and you make me so happy. I'd love to be your girlfriend," she told me.
"Oh my god. Lily Williams you have no idea how happy I am."
She giggled and kissed me on the check.
This was the best day in my entire life. I have never felt this much joy and happiness, I am going out with Lily Williams. The most beautiful girl in SouthWest High School and she is mine, and I love her.
