Exhaustion and Sunsets

I remember how excited I used to feel, watching the sunrise. Now there's just exhaustion and dread.

"Baby, I promise I'll be back from tour as soon as possible!" Shawn smiled while we were on FaceTime.

"That's what you said two months ago. You know Shawn it's so hard not to see you I miss you so much!" I sighed.

"I'm sorry Y/N." he sighed running his fingers through his hair.

"It's fine. I-I gotta go." I quickly pressed the end button before he could say "I love you".

I haven't been able to sleep long since that call. Knowing we may be on thin ice. I've just missed Shawn so much and the fact that we can only talk really late or really early for five minutes just makes it worse.

5am
I sat out on the roof looking at the sunset. Completely exhausted and dreading the day ahead. When my phone went off.

Hey baby, I miss you lots and you're probably sleeping right now. But I wanted to let you know since we haven't talked in a while.  Miss you like crazy.

I felt the butterflies in my stomach increase. He isn't mad?

I went back in the house and closed the window. I crept down the stairs with my phone in my hand. The last step creeked and that's when someone stepped out. The light shone on his face.

"SHAWN!" I yelled running into his arms and hugging him as tight as I could.

"I love you so much Y/N. I'm so sorry for leaving for so long and not taking any breaks." He whispered kissing my head repeatedly.

"It doesn't matter you're here now." I smiled kissing him.
