Chapter One

Diana sat in her room. The memory of mudering only three days old. The police had questioned her to the point of her breaking down repeatedly into tears.

"Four more days and you're back to work...."  Her guilty conscious pounded repeatedly in her head. She already knew she was being put in charge of the case.

                       *Six Days Later*

Diana marched into her office, a large coffee from Starbuks in one hand, a small breifcase containing all the 'evidence' gathered so far. Currently, the young female has been leading the case away from her. Right now, most think it was mass murder, Kyle 'Kamakaze' Dixon.

"Ms. Struebers??" Her boss called and motioned her in.

"Chief??" She replied after sitting down on a plush chair in the large office.

The twenty story office building had a great view of downtown Phoenix.

'Perfect for making it look someone commited suicide....' Her mind pushed in her mind. She shook her head, trying to clear it.

"Everythign okay, Diana?? You still seem a little shaken.." Her boss inquired quizingly.

"Everything's okay." She replied simply.

"Okay.. Just let me know if you need anything, if not, you're excused..." He said, with a wave of his hand as he looked at the stack of paperwork in front of him.

Diana stood up, straightnening her skirt and walked out. She sat down in her own office, which was just down the hall. She opened the door and put her stuff down. Taking a sip of coffee, she sat down and turned on her work computer. A picture of her and Andrew popped up on the screen saver and she smiled sadly at the memory of the proposal.

~Flashback~

Diana was with a certain Andrew Cinastas. They were in Cancun, lounging on the beach. Her finger's laced with his as they watched the people run around and play in the water or show off their skills in sports. She stood up and looked out to the bar.

"Want anything??" She asked, her tanned skin glistening off the sunlight.

"I'm good, babe." His reply was as he blocked the sun from his eyes to look at her. She nodded and walked off.

By the time she had comen back, Andrew was standing up, his hands clenched behind his back.

"What's wrong??" She asked inquizzingly as she took a sip of her drink.

"Well Diana... I figured that, if I loved you, and you loved me as much as I do you, you might just give up hope.."

"Wh-wh-what do you mean??" Her words came out in disbelief. She wsan't too sure on how to feel right now, whether or not to be scared... Or happy.

Before Diana could register her thoughts, Andrew was on the ground with a small box in his hands. A small diamond glimmered in the bright Mexican sun.

"Drew..." She whispered.

"Marry me, Diana Lee Struebers?" He asked. As if he already knew the answer, her left hand was being pulled. The ring finger was lifted and the ring gently placed on her finger. The plastic cup fell to the sand as she tackled Andrew.

"I love you, Andrew Sidney Cinestas."

"I love you, too."
