She didn't leave his side the rest of lunch. And came to find out that he was in the rest of her classes as well. She didn't know why but with Lamia, she felt safe. Even when she was just sitting with him, not saying anything, he just gave this... Feeling. After school ended they walked to the bus and got on. When trying to find a spot to sit someone started to make fun of her for being a "lonely little girl". Almost instinctively, Lamia turned, ready to defend Amara. He wasn't a big person. About 5'9'', average build, but something about him struck fear into anyone he wanted to be afraid. The boy who had made fun of Amara and his friends were all laughing profusely, yet dead silence befell almost the whole bus as Lamia stared at the group. The whole bus could feel whatever aura he was giving out, and all of them felt uncomfortable with it.
Amara could see the anger building in his eyes, and as he started to step forward, she pulled him back. He stopped and looked down at the couple sitting down on the seat next to them.
"Move."

Immediately, they got up, scared of what he might do to them if they didn't comply. Amara sat down first, and Lamia followed after giving one last glance at the group in the back.
The bus started and left the school. Lamia just stared towards the front, not saying a word.

They were the only ones who get off at this stop and when they did, Lamia turned to Amara and said goodbye, and started walking away.
"How did you know I needed help?" She called back to him.

He turns his head so the left side of his face is the only part visible to her, and his eyes flash brightly for a second. He turned his head back and began to walk away again. Even then, she didn't think to ask about his eyes. She so desperately wanted to but every time she though of it, she froze. Unable to speak.

But as he was walking away her heart sank. She dreaded the thought of seeing her father again. Scared of what he'll do when he gets the call the she was late to first period. And again, as if reading her mind, he calls back to her

"You can come with me if you want." She had no idea how he knew what she was thinking but was grateful that he offered. She knew better than to go home with somebody she had just met, and normally she wouldn't. But with Lamia, it was different. She felt ad if she did know him. And felt safe with him. She couldn't explain it, and thought about it the whole day, but all she knew was that going with him would definitely be better than going home to her dad.
