I woke the next morning with my head throbbing and a warm arm wrapped around me. My body tensed as I realized I was only wearing a thin layer of clothing. I followed the trail of the arm and it led to Saizo, staring at me with questions in his eyes.
"Wh-what are you doing?" I asked.
"You wouldn't let me go." He said as he got up and stretched.
"What do you mean?"
He sighed and brought me a glass of water. "While I was laying you down properly, you grabbed a hold of my shirt and wouldn't let go, so I just laid beside you." He gave me a wink as my mouth got dry from seeing the water. "If you wanted me, all you had to do was ask." He chuckled as I snatched the water from him and gulped it down in one go.
"Shut up."
"Lady Sia?" Someone said on the other side of our door.
"Yes?"
"Lord Shinji wished for me to be your escort while you stay here."
I nodded as I looked at Saizo's distraught face. "I understand, thank you."
"I will be back with breakfast." With that, she left.
"I was hoping he would see you more often." He whispered.
"Give it time."
"We don't have time! We have three days left."
"Shh!" I told him as Lord Shinji's presence got closer.
As expected, he stopped in front of our door, and knocked. "Lady Sia, may I come in?"
"He's only asking for you." Saizo said as he walked to the door and opened it with a bow and clever smile. "Good morning milord." Lord Shinji stepped inside and nodded at Saizo as a greeting.
"I hope you both slept well." He gave me a sweet smile.
I bowed to him in greeting. "Thank you, we did."
I stared at Lord Shinji as he got closer to the bed. "Would you mind taking a moment out of your time to see me this afternoon?"
I looked in to his eyes, there is something hidden behind them. And it wasn't good. "If you wish my company, I will follow your request."
He caressed my cheek, his hand was as a cold as death and sent shivers of disgust down my spine. Saizo stepped forward and cleared his throat. Lord Shinji dropped his hand and looked back at him. "My sister is unmarried and untainted." He looked at Lord Shinji with a cold glare in his eyes, but a smile on his face. "We wish to keep her like that."
"We?" Lord Shinji questioned.
"Yes." I said. "We, as in, my brother and I." Lord Shinji looked down at me with excitement in his eyes.
"A woman who has not felt the touch of a man?" His smiled broadened. "How interesting." He turned around and looked at Saizo. "Please accept my apologies for touching your dear sister."
Saizo smiled and nodded. "Thank you for understanding." With that, Lord Shinji left the room.
Saizo shut the door and looked back at me an icy look. "You should get dressed."
I nodded, slowly getting off the bed. "Are you ok?"
Saizo walked passed me quickly to lay out my clothes. "Wear this, I'll give you time to dress." Before he could walk out, I grabbed his arm.
"Saizo." I mumbled kindly as his body tensed.
I looked up at him as he glared down at me with a pained expression. "Don't say it like that." A low grumble at the back of his throat escaped as he gently removed my hand. "Get dressed."
