Chapter twenty seven – wish you were here

The three hour flight was fast and over in no time. I'd actually started to believe my world didn't just break into a million pieces. Bethany was nice, and we chatted the whole way munching on excellent delicious desserts.

When we got off the flight she walked me to the toilets and then the baggage collection. She strolled with me smiling as she talked about her oh so crazy teen life.

'I always used to have this stupid crush on James Meyer' she cooed sighing happily. I smiled raising a brow. It had become so easy to talk to her and it felt like I'd know her for years.

'really? Was he hot or average?'

'major time hot. He was this untouchable guy, every girl drooled over him and my god, was he a panty dropper'

I laughed shaking my head as she fanned her face dramatically.

'no seriously. He was, like isn't there a guy at your school like that?'

'yeah...there is' I said my smile fading as that certain guy popped into my head.

'oh...I'm sorry' she gushed pleadingly.

'it's okay. I have to get over it sometime, right?'

'yeah, I guess you do...hey you know what another part of getting over a heart break is?' she said as we rocked up to the belt line carrying the bags. I spotted mine but it was still on the other side.

'what's that?' I asked glancing at her but then continued to watch my bag come around to me.

'shopping'

'shopping?'

'shopping! You completely buy yourself a new wardrobe because, well everyone knows that he just happens to be the smell drifting from your clothes'

'oh'

'me and some girlfriends are going this weekend, you should come?'

'really? I mean, would I be imposing?'

'of course not. I'm sure the girls will love you'

'oh well, I don't know. I'm not sure what my grandma would say and I have cousins who will probably chasing me like a hound'

'you don't have to, it's just an idea' she smiled weakly and I followed her after grabbing my bag. She walked me to the front entrance and I sighed. Great, it was raining. And it was heavy too.

'no, I'd love too'

'really?'

'yeah sure, it'll get my mind off things'

'well um...oh I'll get your number so I can send you the details'

'okay'

After exchanging numbers she walked off waving by and then I noticed a blond girl come up besides her wearing the same orange outfit. I smiled and then turned trying to look for my grandma. Just as I exited the doors my phone started ringing. I pulled it out making sure it wasn't Lucas and then answered it.

'hello' I answered fighting the urge to yawn. It was three o'clock in the morning and I was seriously tired.

'hello my Nico, it's grandma'

'oh hey grandma. Where are you?'

'I'm out the front, near the car park but I'm coming to the entrance now'

'okay I'll wait here then'

'I hope you packed warm clothes?'

'I packed the clothes I never use so...'
