Chapter twenty eight – you got it bad

Nicole's POV

After the long, well it felt like it, shopping trip with Katrina she dropped me at home and I helped my granny pack her baked goods into her special containers. We had just started when she brought up the subject I was dreading.

'so this boy, his name is Lucas Anderson yes?' she asked looking at me for answers. I nodded.

'don't use his name'

'okay...well what exactly has been going on?'

'too much and I shouldn't have let it granny, but I did'

'he got you good...'

'what do you mean?' I asked avoiding her gaze.

'I mean that whatever he did, he has you so strung up on it. How can anyone miss this?'

'yeah well...maybe not so much anymore'

'don't lie to me, you'll get pimples'

'I'm not lying'

'that's what a liar would say' she smirked and I rolled my eyes smiling. She was trying to lighten the mood, but it wasn't helping.

'I'm not lying'

'well...let me know this one thing, I am a mature woman and of course I know you'll do it sooner or later although I'd prefer later but still...'

'what is it granny?'

'did you sleep with him?'

I spat out the biscuit and choked on it. I turned absolute beet red and granny raised a brow watching me as I launched for water. After the water went down my throat I coughed again and looked at her still beet red.

'w-what?' I asked and she rolled her eyes.

'you obviously did. Was your relationship based on that?'

'can I tell you and you won't go tell mum?'

'I have a feeling she already knows'

'don't say that'

'okay, I won't tell her'

'well...it started three weeks into school, actually I think it was two but it was the end of the week. He said that he doubt I could...ah...s-seduce a g-guy. So ah...I...um-'

'will you just say it? God, everyone has sex' she rolled her eyes and I sighed nodding.

'I kind of did turn him on and then he started getting to me. For the first time in two years I started to look pass everything I thought he was. I think its right to say I'm really the only one who knows Lu-him. Except his friend Kyle, but then again...'

'he opened up to you?'

'kind of. You know I feel kind of guilty'

'why?'

'because I always thought he was...an asshole'

'you judge him before you got to know him, didn't you?'

'kind of but that was just how he represented himself. He wouldn't let anyone in so...'

'sounds like my husband'

'pop is awesome, I can't imagine him like...him'

'oh but you'd be surprised but this is about your story not mine'

'okay...well one basketball practise...'

'he's a basketball player?'

'yeah, he's up for captain this year but coach hasn't picked anyone. Everyone reckons he'll get it...I hope he does, he deserves it'
