The Space In Between

Lucy's pov

I woke up in a  strange bed. It looked nothing like the one at my apartment so I was really confused. I turn on my side to see what time it is only to see Cameron right next to me. Suddenly memories from last night flossed through my head.

"It's ok Lucy, you'll be alright." He whispered into my ear as tears came pouring out of my eyes.

"Cam, I can't go on with out him." I mumbled

"Yes you can, I believe in you." He said as he tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear. I looked into his eyes. He took his hand a wiped the tears off my face and held it in his hands. I closed my eyes trying to fix this mess in my head but when I opened them it was all the same.

Cameron leaned close to my face and his lips touched mine. It was intense, the temperature was rising in the room and I threw off the engagement ring. It landed on the floor with a little 'clink' then Cameron threw me on the bed.

"Lucy?" Cameron asked snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah." I replied

"Are you ok?" He wondered

"I, I think so." I answered and he pulled me close to his bare chest. All I wanted to do was cry but there were no tears left in me.

I felt empty.

I felt lost.

Most of all, I felt alone.

Cameron's grip got tighter around me and I breathed in his scent. He smelled like his old self, like pine trees and axe body spray and no longer like sadness and jail cells. Once his eyes met mine he looked at me with pity and sorrow.

I got out of his bed and put on my clothes barely saying anything.

Before I knew it I was in a uber on the way to my apartment with a few tears sitting in the rim of my eyelids. They were begging to flow down my face but I couldn't let them.

I had to be strong.

I reached the apartment and took in a few deep breaths just in case Jake was there. I walked in and he was standing in the middle of the apartment with a worried look on his face.

"Where have you been?" He asked angrily

"Why are you still here?" I wondered ignoring his question

"What do you mean, 'why am I still here?' I'm here because we are still engaged." He replied

"No we aren't." I said a little worried

"Don't lie to me bitch." He said threw gritted teeth as he noticed the engagement ring was missing from my finger.

"Where's the ring!?" He yelled

"I took it off because we are over." I stated

"Let me guess you took it off at Cameron's house." He said while coming closer to me trapping me between him and a wall.

"Does he make you feel the way I do?" He wondered while sucking on my neck. Suddenly he pushed me onto a bed and ripped off my shirt and his. He saw the hickies Cameron left then he suddenly got angry. He picked me up and threw me across his lap. Suddenly I felt stinging in my ass.

"That's for cheating." He stated then hit me again. "That's for loosing the ring." Then he hit me one last time, " and that was just for pure enjoyment." Then he laid me on the bed and ripped off my pants.

"Jake..." I began to say a bit worried.

"Hush baby girl." He interrupted as he crawled on top of me. He unclipped my bra and began to suck on one of my boobs. I didn't like this at all, he didn't make me feel the Cameron did.

Uh oh what's gonna happen?????
