Dan decided that it would be best if he called someone. So he called the hospital.
"Hello, this is London Main Hospital, how can we help you?" A way-too-happy nurse answered the phone, and Dan almost sighed.
"Hi, my... friend has been seeing things. Like, he thought I was in the room when I wasn't. He kept asking me why I wouldn't just leave him alone, but I hadn't seen him in a little while..." Dan replied nervously. What if Phil didn't want him to call?
"It sounds like your friend may have a case of what is called Schizophrenia. This is a disease of the brain that makes people see, smell, hear, or touch things that aren't there and really believe that they are real, though no one else can see, smell, hear, touch... any of these things. This causes people to do things that they wouldn't usually do. Symptoms include: Delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thinking or speech, and social withdrawal. Have any of these things been happening, aside from delusions or halucinations?"
"Well, he hasn't been talking to me in a little while, so I decided to visit him and see what's up, and he had started to yell at me, saying that there were two of me and asking how I did that and stuff like that..." Dan said hesitantly, hoping that Phil doesn't wake up.
"It sounds like he may have a case of Schizophrenia, though we won't be able to know for sure unless he comes in. Is there a time you may be able to bring him?"
"Couldn't you just send an ambulance or something? I'm pretty sure he won't let me take him in. He'll say he doesn't have anything and I don't want to force him into anything... He passed out after a little bit of yelling at me before."
"Alright, I guess we could send one. It should be there in five to ten minutes. Make sure you keep him there. If he wakes up, try and convince him that you're not going to hurt him. Don't tell him the other person he's seeing isn't real, because that will only make him angrier. What is your address?"
Dan told her Phil's address, watching Phil nervously.
"Okay, thanks a lot. Goodbye."
"Goodbye."

The ambulance came, and Phil didn't wake up. "Can I ride with him?" Dan asked the nurses.
"...I guess so. We aren't doing anything serious, so okay..." One of the male nurses said hesitantly.
Dan thanked him, hopping into the ambulance and sitting by Phil.
"Hey, Phil." Dan said, sounding guilty as Phil's eyelids began to flutter.
"Which one are you!?" He exclaimed, jumping up from the gurney he had been lying on.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you!" Dan reassured.
"Why am I in here!?"
"I'm sorry, Phil..."
