Chapter 4- It's getting real

It was just Thaddeus. He stopped walking to lace his shoes, and I went further, not noticing. Now he caught me. I was resting my head on his knee, and I was staring into his deep green eyes. It was the first time we were so close.I could see all the green shades, even if it was dark outside. He was looking at me as well. I moved my sight to those nice full lips. He looks even better when we are close. The whole think lasted for approximately 10 seconds, but it felt like a eternity. Those were the best few seconds of my life. He changed his position and we started talking.

Thaddeus: Meredith.. Are you Okay?

Meredith: I will be. My knee just hurts. Shits like this happen all the time, taking my problems with it into account.

Thaddeus: Do you still want to go after that light? 

Meredith: No. I am sure they can deal with it without me. Just be careful.

Thaddeus: They can deal with it without US! I won't leave you alone, Edith. You are a friend!

I just got friendzoned, just as I expected. I insisted him to go and he carried me in his back. We walked in the forest and followed that light. It was so awkward to be called "a friend" by him. I was right. I was not sad because I knew it isn't possible for him to feel the same. The wind was blowing peacefully and I could really feel his scent. I can't believe he is using my favorite man perfume. He is so great and careful. I'd made the right decision having a crush on him.

Thaddeus: Do you mind if I light a cigarette?

Meredith: I don't, as long as you give me one as well.

Thaddeus: Didn't you have asthma or tobacco allergy or something similar?

Meredith: I do have both of them, but in harmless form.

Thaddeus: I won't smoke. Even tho' you think it's harmless, it isn't. I want your knee to be the only pain at the moment.

We kept on walking, and, at some point, we heard something falling down. Thaddeus started running faster so we could see the source. It was a flashlight. When we got the closest possible, the flashlight fell down and Thaddeus took it.

Thaddeus: Is anybody out there?

Meredith: Of course it is. This flashlight doesn't belong to the trees.

Johnny jumped from behind a tree.

Johnny: What if I am a tree? People can't even pee without other people bothering them! What are the two of you doing in the forest at 2:18 AM?

I whispered "Should we tell him?" into Thaddeus' ear, so he would do what he thinks it's the best.  He decided to tell him.

Thaddeus: Remember the letter Carmencita did not want to show us?

Johnny: Yes.

Thaddeus: She has to meet someone in the forest and do the dirty, and that someone has to kill one of us.

Johnny: Fucking bitch! I will kill her myself!

Meredith: We all split together and decided to turn on a flashlight if anything important happens, that's why we came here.

Johnny: Can I join you, or..?

Meredith&Thaddeus: Sure!

Johnny: Just a problem. Jordan is a few meters away. He came with me. Should we tell him?

Thaddeus: I'd rather not.

Johnny: Okay.

The three of us stood down on the cold ground, and I accidentally fell asleep. I had a dream that I was home. I could really feel the smell of my mother's food in my dream. I miss home. I wonder if I will ever go back. 

In the morning, I was back to my "bed" on the campsite. Thaddeus must've carried me back or something. I woke up because Mike was screaming in my ear.

Mike: Edith!!

Meredith: What?

Mike: Guess what?

Meredith: You caught him?

Mike: No! Yay!

Meredith: What was so important that you had to wake me up?

Mike: I just wanted to wake you up. I love bothering people. No, no. Audrey friendzoned me last night. I wanted to tell you the entire thing.

Meredith: Thaddeus friendzoned me too!

Mike: That's friendship goals! What did he said?

Meredith: That I am A FRIEND!

Mike: Audrey said she is thankful for having a friend like me, because I gave her my coat.

We both started laughing and kept on talking about our crushes. We had pretended we were talking about that psycho when anyone else was around. After finishing our talk, Cassidy wanted to tell me something as well, and Sun was there to. Jordan had actually joined them last night, and they did not find anything but Carmencita, waiting. When we said her name, she came to us with her clones. She seemed really angry and she had another letter in her hand.

Carmencita: It is all because of you and your stupid plan! Couldn't you just leave me do my thing?

Cassidy: That's how you behave when you don't get the d? What plan?

Carmencita: You were in the forest, looking for me! I saw you, bastards. Now we all have to pay.

Sun: Why would we look for you?

Daniella: Carmy, I don't want my nails broken because of them again. Give them the paper and let's go.

Carmencita: I don't want to talk to you. Just read the new letter and choose someone.

She gave us the letter and left, followed by the others. I went after the boys, Audrey and Maddie, so they could see the letter as well. We were back to our place, and I started reading the letter.

Meredith: You showed up, good girl, but the others ruined it. Make them choose someone to kill, anyone but them and whoever you want. You have one week left.

Cassidy: Who does this guy think he is?

Meredith: It is getting scary. Who should we kill?

Cassidy: Everyone, if possible.

Mike: She will choose to keep her girls alive. Who else is she friends with?

Audrey: Kyle. Plus, he is totally useless.

Mike: And also a fuckboy?

Audrey: What?

Mike: Nothing. Let's kill Kyle!

Meredith: Wait, guys. We have an entire week left to think.

Audrey: Kyle always said you are stupid.

Meredith: KILL THAT MOTHERFUCKER!

I love that, even in serious moments, we joke and laugh. Those laughters keep us close. If I will never go back home, I will be lucky to call them my family by now.
