Dear  Helen,

I  know  I  promised  to  write  to  you  as much as I could  when  we  were  under  that  tree.  I'm  sorry  if  I  haven't  been  able  to  keep  my  promise.  But,  don't  you  worry  ma  chérie,  I  will  soon  be  able  to  write  to  you  everyday  when  I've  saved  up  enough  money  for more stamps.  I  hope  to  hear  from  you  soon.

Love,
Jean
