"Why are you doing this?"

She scoffs lightly, stars in her eyes. "What do you mean, Azzy?"

"Showing me this," I motion to the surface, catching a glimpse of moonlight through the gap in the underground way above. I watch, twinkles of silver light barely peering through the slit hovering above us. It was like they were saying "hi" to me. I wave back, acknowledging their presence. Real stars were pretty.

"Because I..." she trails off.

"You?"

She sighs on her back, a very faint smirk teasing her lips as she fumbles with the collar on her shirt. "Because it's a nice thing to do."

The cool night is quiet as we watch a bright streak fly though the sky, something I've seen a lot tonight. Chara called them 'meteor showers.' I cross my legs, the grass tickling my toes.

"Well... I guess it's kinda nice," I joke.

"I've never felt so free," she suddenly mutters.

Her voice wavers, like a song cutting through the silence. It was fragile, and soft. I've never heard her talk like that before.

I twist my head, and see tears crawling down her face. Followed by more, and more, and more. Chara never cries, she even said so herself. Maybe she was broken today.

I felt like I should reassure her, but she didn't look mad, or depressed. She genuinely looked happy. I smiled.

"I love you Chara, no matter what."

There's a hitch on her throat, her breath being caught. Then it steadies as she wipes away her last tear, like the final act of a performance. I shift my eyes back to the horizon dancing with stars.

There's so much to say, but I just wanted to be next to Chara. Forever.

I let that be enough.
