"Are you okay?"
A girl was sprawled motionless on the open terrain. I quickly rushed to help her, dropping the flowers I collected as I brought her to her feet. She groaned.
"Oh no, it looks like you fell," I note the scrapes and bruises running up her legs and arms.
"Ughh."
She possessed big eyes, wider than saucers as she studies me, and light brown hair. Its wispy and frizzy, almost soft looking. I stared in bewilderment. She almost looked like a...
She stumbled, and I quickly caught her. "Oh! Take it easy!"
I wasn't sure who or where she belonged to, so I began dragging her to my house. I kept a close eye on her. I wondered what this meant for me. If we couldn't bring her back up to the sky, then she would have no place to go.
If she had no place to go, then she would have to stay... with us! I instantly brightened at the idea. I've never had a real friend before.
"What's your name?"
"... Chara."
"Chara?" I aksed.
"Mhm."
"Like," I paused. "KAR-A?"
She nodded hesitantly, before she began stumbling. I swiftly stopped her, and contemplated the information given to me.
"That's a pretty name."
She froze.
"My name is Asriel."
It was silent for a long time, time racing as we passed the garden and the ruins and the puzzles. It wasn't until we reached my front step I noticed her lips twitching. I grabbed her hand and lifted her up the stairs. I almost push open the door before I think twice. I looked over at her.
"Is everything okay..?"
She nodded.
"You sure?"
"I just like your name," Chara replied. I beamed with delight, but the feeling quickly faded as she recoiled in pain, holding her swollen head with her free hand. I acted quickly; I opened the door, and announced I was home.
I would never say it, because she could be offended, or scared, or even angry, but I hoped soon it would be Chara's, too.
