Joey's Pov

I sit on my bed in my dorm, typing an essay for a requirement class. 

I start to daydream, looking out the window, I notice Dani and a group of her friends walking by.

I rush outside, already knowing what I was about the ask.

"Dani!"

"Dani, wait up!" I say frantically as she and her friends turn around to look at me with smiles on their faces.

"Hi ladies." I say to all of them, smirking at them while doing so.

Dani giggles.

"Can I help you, Joey?" 

"Yeah, have you talked to Cat recently?" 

She scowls at this.

"Yes, I have actually and I don't want you talking to her."

I open my mouth, as if to respond, but Dani cuts me off.

"I know what happened between you guys at the party. Cat's my best friend and I'm not gonna stand by and watch you use her for sex and then just drop her like a stone."

She continues...

"I can tell you're just trying to get her into bed." she says to me, crossing her arms.

I was now at a loss for words. 

No girl has ever called me out like that before.

Sure, girls knew my ulterior motive most of the time but no one has ever tried to stop me.

I was silent for a second before finally speaking up.

"You're right. Sorry Dani. Bye girls." I mutter, walking away as Dani watches me.

Dani's Pov

"Did you seriously just call Joey out?" Tanya asks me, shocked at my actions.

I never thought I'd ever have the guts to stand up to someone like that.

I've always been the kind of girl that watches from a distance.

Never in my whole lifetime, would I ever have thought that I could be this confident.

"I know. Crazy. But it's the truth. Here's a tip, if you wanna stay safe, both mentally and physically, stay away from Joey. I know I'll never get caught up in his drama. But, he's still hot." I finish, Tanya and the rest agree with me as we laugh and continue walking through campus.

Mom's death really has made me stronger.
