Joey's Pov
I'm hanging out with my best friend and my girlfriend today. I finally get a break from studying and the stress of college life and I should be pretty content with myself right now.
Should.
Except for the fact that I'm not.
Things with Cat and I have been going pretty smoothly in the month that we've been dating and I'm excited about that. Cat's an amazing girl and I think about her everyday. It's no longer just a lustful relationship between us anymore. It's love.
I know it for a fact.
I, Joey Graceffa, am desperately in love with Cathrine Valdez.
And like I said, that should make me the happiest guy in the world right now but I'm just not.
And I won't be unless the truth gets out.
Dani's Pov
I pull up to Cat's house where I'm meeting her and Joey.
I'm actually really nervous about today. I know it seems like I would have no reason to be, but I do.
I slowly get out of the car, stalling for Joey to get here before me. I really don't want to be alone with Cat right now.
Sucking it up, I walk straight up to Cat's door, knock, and then enter.
"Hey!" Cat says cheerfully, hugging me.
"it feels like forever since we last hung out." she says.
"Yeah. It has been." I say, faking a smile.
"So, how have you been? I mean, with your mom and everything."
"A lot better, actually. I'm coping with it pretty well." I lie, tears welling up in my eyes, changing the subject before Cat realizes.
"Good. We should probably get going. Joey is gonna meet us at the theatre instead of here."
"k. To the Dani-Moblie?" I ask her jokingly.
"Race ya." Cat says, running out the door with me following.
"You forgot to lock your door." I tell Cat, buckling my seatbelt.
"Shit." she says, sprinting back into the house to get her key, and locking her front door.
"Ready now?" I ask.
"Yes, now step on it! I miss Joey."
I roll my eyes and back out of Cat's driveway. This is going to be a long drive to the movie theatre.
Cat's Pov
The ride to the movie theatre was strangely awkward.
I don't get it.
Dani and I have been friends for as long as I can remember and we never have awkward silences between us. She's acting different today, and I can't put my finger on what's wrong.
We both get out of the car, as I see Joey out of the corner of my eye.
"Joey!" I say, running up to him and hugging him like they do in the movies.
Don't know what I'm talking about?
You know that really cliche scene at the end of a romance movie when the couple is finally reunited, and they have that overly dramatic hug scene? That's kinda how I felt when I saw Joey.
'I missed you!" he says to me, flashing that familiar grin.
"Alright, alright. You two lovebirds mind either toning it down, or going to the coop to make some baby birdies?"
