The sound of the cafe door swinging open, forced me to tilt my head towards it. In came our target dressed in a suit and tie. I wondered if his droopy eyes which were riddled with bags were a result of old age. However, my theory was immediately shut down once I'd remembered he allegedly had an affair with a very young Sophia Ross. His eyes must have just been tired.

He took a seat at the far end of the cafe, well out of ear shot. He seemed to be way too consumed with frantically checking his watch for the time to scan the cafe although he was clearly using his cell phone.

I glimpsed at Copper who'd been discreetly eyeing him, as a predator would it's prey.

"What?" she blurted out in an inhospitable tone.

On reflex, my brows bushed together as I looked at her dumbfounded. From my brief encounters with Copper I've learned that, she's was pretty vague at times and usually gave no reason in doing so. However being random is one thing, and being randomly aggressive is another.

"Am I supposed to know how to answer that?" I rhetorically asked uninterestedly while I turned my attention away from her, and to the couple cooing at each other two tables across from us.

"Why were you staring at me?"

I heavily sighed while I turned my head back around to face her.

It's almost as if she's just looking for an excuse to talk to me, cause I definitely wasn't staring or was I?

"How about we keep our eyes on our guy, hm? I proposed though It wasn't exactly a suggestion, but more of an indirect order.

"And while we're at it, we should wear a shirt that says 'Hey look at me, I'm trying my best to look suspicious over here' " she put on a  cheery voice that you'd use to talk to a two year old child.

I rolled my eyes then slightly leaned over the table. "Well if you're so concerned about arising suspicion go order something, we've been here awhile and haven't actually bought anything" I suggested in a hushed tone.

With a puff she started pushing herself up and out of the chair though abruptly sat back down. "Since it was your great idea why can't you do it"

"Well..." I began moving uncomfortably in my seat. "My face  has been in a lot of public places and I don't think he'd want to linger around for a second longer after he'd seen the face of a journalist" I finished my statement while inadvertently avoiding her eyes heated gaze.

"Just cause you spent couple of hours of your pathetic life with Lucas Cage, don't try to act like you know all about politicians" she pointed out, with an eyebrow highly arched at me.

It was taking all of my self restraint reining me from drop kicking her right in the jaw. I really needed this job. I was positively sure that my bills weren't gonna pay itself and being homeless was the last thing I needed on my list of priorities.

"Get over yourself" she continued badgering as if she were solely striving to withdraw some sort of a reaction from me, then proceeded to hastily get out of her seat to make her order.

I exhaled in and out. In and out. While also clenching and unclenching my fists which had turned white, as a result of the excessive pressure. I was attempting to rationalise my state of thought and my next plan of action, by thinking of my job.

However, It was the way she always made me seem insignificant and dumb and then does a 180 and says 'your the asshole', that managed to claw its way under my skin. "Dex, your such a dick" I thought to myself, once I realised this set up was intended to be my way of sanction as I hadn't actually received one besides a lecture.
