It was a hot summer night, burning the midnight's lamp she sat on her dinning table practicing her stats for her second year final exams. By her side was her trustee dog Missy, snoring and sleeping away, dreaming of catching cats as her paws moved ever so gently. Nonetheless this brought a smile to her face as she captured it in a video on her phone.
She was her only company in the late night. As the dawn struck, she packed up her books, got her bag ready for college the next day and quietly switched off the halls lights. She snuck in the bedroom ever so quietly with ease where her grand dad slept too. As she rolled into bed and sat down to say her prayers, she looked at the stars and moon through her windowsill and wished for a love which she for so long could not find. Then she gently lay in bed and closed her eyes only to be awaken by her alarm clock at 6.
She woke up gracefully, brushed her teeth, dressed up and hurled herself to college. The day went by so quickly and soon she was home. It was late in the afternoon, as she entered the door her grand dad asked her how her paper went and she said pretty well and then he went off into the bedroom for his afternoon snooze. After some while her mother called her on Viber, then the only application that had video calls on her phone. Her mother had been out with the rest of the family and some close family friends for the long weekend to a desert camp to celebrate the country's national and liberation day. They had a BBQ there with some games, lots of food and tremendous fun. She told her- Hi sweety, how was your exam today?
In response she said she faired well and her mother asked her to say hello to everyone there and with a smile on her face she did. As she saw everyone so happy and jolly within she wished she was there too, to enjoy and be apart of the festivities. With a slightly frowned face she told her mother- Its not fair, I wish I was there too. Her mom consoled her by telling her that when she was back they would go again and for now to focus on her practicals that she had in 2 days and she would be home soon....
