(Extremely short. Task: Write a story from the point of view of a spy.)

Failure

Quietly, I break into the seemingly abandoned warehouse. Everything is going to end today. One way or another. Once inside, I hear the hushed tones of multiple voices. Drawing my dagger from my boot silently, I creep closer. When I come across the group, I smirk. It will finally be over. I will complete my mission at last. As something hits the back of my head, I realise I made one fatal mistake; an ameature mistake. I didn't check my surroundings. I failed.

Creating Tension

You could have cut the atmosphere with a knife. The tension that had consumed the room just moments ago was enough to choke anyone. If someone was to walk in randomly, they would wonder what happened between the two of us. Me and my 'brother' stand there, glaring at each other. We both knew what we had to do. It would be a fight to the death.

Start a story that begins "That was it. I was trapped..."

That was it. I was trapped. I slid down the door and brought my knees up to my chest. I couldn't believe I had allowed that stupid beast to corner me like that. I had known my past was catching up to me, but I hadn't expected it to arrive so soon.

The beast roared aloud in a sudden bout of anger and I jumped. I couldn't allow it to end like that but what could I have done? I felt around in the dark, searching for something to hold the door, even if it would only be temporary.
