It hurts to lose your best friend

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's official; I've been ditched. On my birthday. I'm thirteen today and Trenton decided to stay at his stupid school for a weekend camping trip. I hate it, he has been on so many trips instead of coming home. He promised me he would be home this weekend
I look over at all my cousins playing their stupid crocket game. Even Emma and Ivory ditched me to play. They have been doing things without me lately. I can't hang out with them without being pushed aside and ignored.
My cousin Sara, who is twenty, walked over to me and wiped a tear that slipped down my cheek. I smile softly at her, "why is everyone pushing me away Sara?"
"It's life baby doll," she says and gives me a rose from behind her back. "Trenton told me to give you this." I take it from her and read the small note tied to it. I smile and read it, I've always loved his handwriting.
It said, "Princess, I'm sorry I couldn't make it, but here is a Rose to make up for it. Happy birthday." I laugh when I see how he spelled 'rose.'
I look up at Sara and give her a big hug. "When did he tell you that? Is he home?"
Sara hugs back, "he is super sick honey."
I pout, "Vennessa said he is staying at school for a camping trip."
She shakes her head, "no, but if that is what you were told don't tell anyone I told you different. Okay?"
I nod, "yes ma'am"
She stands up and flattens out the wrinkles in her dress, "come on. Let's get you some presents."
"Wait, like open them early?" I scrunch my eyebrows and look at her confused.
She nods, "why not? Nobody seems to notice what they are here for, so we will go do this together." I stand up and she grabs my hand, pulling me inside and to the dining room. I look out the window and see my mom and Vennessa talking and drinking their wine. I scoff, they would rather gossip then celebrate my birthday.
Sara sit me down and starts handing me presents. She is awesome.
I open my last present and put it with my others; many cards just filled with cash and gift cards, clothes, and lots and lots of makeup. I don't even wear make up. Mom gave me a phone and laptop yesterday. I already have half my family's numbers;  I even got Trenton's, but I haven't dared to call him. Well until now, the note made me so happy.
I pick up my phone and see that it is almost supper time. I look out the window to see almost everyone gone. "Sara, nobody said bye."
She looks out the window; almost angry looking. "Why are they being jerks?" I hear her mumble. I shrug to myself and then pick up my gifts, bringing them to my room. Afterwards, I shower and change into some comfy clothes. I go downstairs and put a frozen pizza in the oven and grab a small bottle of Mountain Dew. When my pizza is done, I bring it up to my room with my soda and a bag of chips. Maybe my parents will pay attention when I can't fit in my stupid dresses anymore.
With that, I turn on the t.v. and watch Two Broke Girls and eat my pizza.
((Hey y'all! I know it's a little late. Okay a lot late, but I've been busy and I'm lucky to have been able to write this chapter. It is currently 11:26 pm, I should be in bed, but I think I'm going to update and edit my other stories. I hope you liked this short chapter!
Love, Kendra)))
