Harry lived in a nice gated community called Deodore Villa, it was surrounded by nice small families that all looked around the same, a mom, a dad, and two kids, a boy and a girl. All the neighbors got along and sometimes there were even times where the people around the block would go to one person's house and have a big barbeque. Harry didn't like his neighbors. They were nice, sure, but they all treated him like a kid. They believed he wasn't trusted around things like scissors and they all talked to him funny. Something like,
"Oh hi Harry, how are you? Why aren't you with your mom, it's dangerous to walk around without her."
Or
"Wow Harry! You drew that? You didn't even color outside the lines, i'm so proud!"He especially didn't like their kids who would take Harry's crayons while they're at Jess' house drawing. They would laugh and say
"Cmon Harry, if you ask for them back, i'll give them to you, I promise. All you gotta do is open your mouth and say some words." And Harry being Harry, he didn't. He stood there with his head laying low and crying as the other kids would laugh and break his crayons. He didn't know what to do in most of these situations so he did what he can do, stay quiet and cry.
This time around was different however. Louis had asked if he could come over, since his parents were having a night out and Harry seemed to be the only who talked to him at school. Harry asked his mom who of course said yes, and it just so happened that in that same weekend, Anne and Harry were going to go to Robin's house, their neighbor, so that they could have the monthly barbeque. So Louis decided to tag along with his nice new white flower crown and new Power Rangers T-shirt.
"My mommy said that I shouldn't wear my crown today because it could get dirty, but I sneaked it into my backpack anyway. I she just doesn't like that I wear these outside of the house, she thinks people will make fun of me." Louis rambled.
He was walking with Harry across the street while holding Harry's hand.
"But I don't care what people say, I like my crown. It makes me feel safe. You like it don't you Harry? I've never heard you complain about it so I think you like it, but then you don't really say much so you might hate it. Do you hate it Harry?" Louis stopped right in front of Robin's house and waited for his response.
Harry grabbed on tighter to Louis' hand and whispered,
"I-I think it's nice L-Lou."
Louis looked at him and smiled, "Thank you, I'm glad you like it."
They continued to walk to the door and Louis knocked on the door. Robin came to the door and let them in, they said some polite 'hello's' and walked past him to the living room. Robin said all the parents were out in the backyard while the kids were in the living room watching TV. Once they entered the usual kid's were there, Liam who was 7, Zayn who was also 7, Niall who was the youngest being 6, and two older kids named Nick and Luke who were 10.
"Well look who it is, the mute. How are you Harry? Decide to talk yet? Or are you just gonna cry again?" Nick snickered and walked to Harry. Luke laughed and gave Nick and obnoxious high five, following him like a puppy.
"Who's this Harry? Your boyfriend? What's on your head. A crown? That's for girls, are you a girl?" Luke pushed Louis a bit and grabbed his crown.
"No. I'm Louis and I'm a boy. And that's mine so give it back!" Louis tried and grab the crown back but Luke was too tall for him to reach.
"Aw Lewis you're so small. Are you sure you're not a girl?" Nick grabbed the crown from Luke's hand and began to bend it and pull on the flowers.
"Stop doing that! It's new and my mommy will get mad!" Louis yelled and tried to reach for the crown again but failed. Harry was hugging himself and crying while Niall, Zayn, and Liam tried to comfort him.
"Nick, stop. Mom said you have to be nice." Liam went up to him and tried to grab the crown also but like Louis, he failed.
"Ok, I'll stop. Only if Lewis here admits he is a girl." He lowered the crown and when he Louis tried to grab it he raised it up again.
"No! I'm not a girl and it's Lou-ee not Lewis! Just give it back!"
"Give what back? This?" Nick started bending the crown and it looked seconds away from breaking.
"S-Stop please." Harry stuttered out. Nick immediately stopped and looked at him.
"What was that mute? Say it again, but louder." Harry walked up next to Louis, trembling and repeated what he said.
"Stop."
Nick smirked and snapped the headband in two. He tossed the two pieces to the ground next to Louis and smiled.
"Oh sorry, I didn't hear you. I guess you weren't loud enough."
Luke laughed and walked with Nick towards one of the rooms of the house. Louis picked up the two pieces and began to sniffle. Harry went up to him and shakily hugged him.
"I'm s-so sorry, I tried to help. I-I p-promise." Harry sobbed. Louis just hugged him back and tried not to cry.
"It's ok. Don't cry, I have more. Don't worry Harry. I'm not angry at you. I swear it's ok." Louis just kept hugging him until they heard Liam speak up.
"I'm sorry Harry, my mom always asks him to be nice but he doesn't listen. I tried telling him to stop but I don't think he likes me so he doesn't listen to me."
"Yeah I'm sorry too Harry, and you too Louis. Luke and Nick are meanies." Niall chimed in and Zayn nodded at what he said. Louis smiled politely at them and whispered that it was ok.
For the rest of the day, the five boys played a few games together and actually became friends. And on the way back home, Harry told Louis about his mom's hot glue and before Louis' mom picked him up, the crown was messily glued back together and Louis thanked him with a kiss on the cheek
