The next two weeks pass in a blur. I found a routine that consists of going to school, then training and even more training. Around 7:30 every night Nash takes me home and I enjoy a meal with my grandparents. I just about forget about the vampires all together. We went to the club as promised and danced away the night. I dance and laugh with my friends. And like any normal teens at a club we had a couple drinks. But as midnight neared we all grew tired and went home for some rest. Nash lingers at my house when he drops me off. He sits on my bed and we talk for a while. I lean over and kiss him. The kiss was meant to be light and playful but soon the light kiss grows deeper and more needing. Nash pulls away slowly. He tries and clears his throat.
"I better get going." Nash says. His voice rough. I blush and nod in agreement.
After we went to the club the routine went on as normal. Two weeks after the incident with the vampires and I can barley remember why I was so scared of a few blood suckers. Today has been a very long day. The school had a teachers planning day today so I had no school. The pack met up at Nash's house and we spent the whole day training and working out on his gym equipment. I spent the last four hours alternating between running on the treadmill, fighting in hand to hand combat with Nash and the others, and lifting weights. My muscles are stiff and sore and all I want to do is fall over. I grab my dark blue nightgown that stops a little above my knees and head into my bathroom for a shower. I let the hot water pound against my back until it runs cold. I shut the water off and dry off before pulling on my clothes. I run a brush through my hair before turning off the light and crawling in bed. The soft warm covers begin to lull me to sleep when something crashes against the roof.
I stumble out of bed groggy from just about falling asleep. I begin to feel around under my bed until I feel cold metal and the smooth hilt of my dagger. Nash had given it to me as a gift. I grip it tightly and crouch making my way to my back wall. I press myself against the cool plaster and wait, searching the darkness for movement. My window slides open and a large bulky figure crawls through the space. Fallowed by a petite figure. The second figure is armed with a gun but something about the gun seems unusual. I take in a tight breath and launch myself at the bigger figure. I press the tip of my dagger to his back, if I pressed hard enough the dagger would pierce his heart.
"Who the hell are you?" I growl. He spins, faster then I had anticipated. He slams me into the wall, holding my throat, he lifts me into the air. He slams his hand against mine and the dagger falls from my grip.
"Come on Meredith we don't have all night!" The man hisses. Finally I recognize these people. Meredith lifts the gun and fires it t my chest. The man releases me and I drop unable to really move my body. My eyes begin to blur. My fingers pull the dart out of my stomach. Then it hits me. It's a tranquilizer. My eyes droop closed and I am lifted into the air. My mind slows and then everything goes black.
My eyes open than close again and again until my eyes adjust to the dimly lit room. I groan and attempt to roll to my side only to grimace in pain. I move my hands and the sound of chains dragging along the ground bounces around the room. I look down at my body and examine the dark material of my nightgown. The fabric sticks to my skin and I have a feeling that its not water. I slowly peel the nightgown away from my torso. I hiss in a breath and carefully pull my nightgown back down. There is a bullet lodged in my stomach. There is blood all over my arms, my legs, my stomach, and the ground. Its everywhere. This is bad. Very bad. With a wound like this I will be as useless as a human. And in this situation being useless is going to get me killed. A door on the far wall groans open startling me. I hadn't even noticed it was there. I stare at the figure coming through the door. Then I see their face. I bare my teeth and growl. Baya gives me a weary smile. I launch at her but the chains stop me an inch from her face. She flinches. I hope she doesn't notice how much pain I am in.
