Little Glass Jars

I've never felt so alone.

I paint new scars,

I pack all our memories

In little glass jars.

They hang from the limbs,

They never let go,

I'll never forget you,

Though time passes slow.

Through storms and great forces,

They never will break,

Just like the friendship

For granted I'd take.

Watching them sulk

In the shade where they lay,

They hate being prisoners,

They wish to fly away.

So I take down the jars

From the old willow tree,

They sing and rejoice,

The memories set free.

They go their own ways,

And bid me farewell,

They were always there with me,

Through my darkest days of hell.

If you ever find one,

Never let it go.

The friendship you'll have,

Will change your life so.

I hope you find a friend,

Like one I used to have,

Just don't take them for granted,

Or it will leave you very sad.

Hannah, I love you.

I always will.

I'll never forget you.

My bones are now chilled.
