Adelaide Pov:
Andrea was always the first to do everything. She was our leader by fault. That was why she was first to cross the rickety rope bridge. Followed by our twin cousins Dominic and Desmond. Now it was my turn and every step I was fearful as I glanced down at the torrent of flood water below me.
"Relax Addy we all have minimal telekinesis!" Andrea coaxed as she called from the opposite side of the gorge. Her Robin Hekomï mark glowed for a moment along her wrist as if for proof.
"I'm not scared!" I growled standing up straighter taking a more assured step forward. The board creaked under my weight and cracked under pressure. I took another step followed by anther, and soon enough I was safe on solid ground. Dominic patted my back lightly as if to prove the fact that because he was youngest he understood. I rubbed my Hekomï mark looking down at the hummingbird on my wrist for comfort as my sister led the way deeper into the jungle.
"Shouldn't we turn around at some point?" Dominic asked causing his twin to throw a sour look in our direction. Andrea glanced back before continuing through the jungle. We were going much farther into the strange terrain then we should and I was starting to think my twin was intentionally disobeying...
Dipper Pov:
It took everything I had to keep myself from falling asleep. Sitting in the second in command chair next to the empty gold keeper position was the constant reminder of the power I possessed. My sister sat across from me at the horseshoe shaped table her regal form reflecting her adopted life as queen of the elves. Three hours of constant bickering and no results were coming in.
"We have to prove to them why we deserve to live here!" The Keeper of healing shouted slamming his old fist against the table. His neighbors kindly telling him to calm down. The sight of the door blowing open and a fuming princess of the elves storming in past the secretary quieted the chamber.
"Your 'wife' has done it again!" She growled her dress blowing from the force in which she had entered with. Mabel exchanged nervous glances wondering what Bill could have done.
"What has Bethany done this time?" Mabel asked before my Hekomï powers activated.
"She was watching the children!" I shouted jumping up from my chair as realization welled within me. Princess Kandae simply nodded although from the sly look on her face I could tell she was amused by our treatment of Bill. It was a precaution to call Bill those names, as it would not be approved of among the rest of the council if they ever found out about my relation with Bill.
"This meeting is temporarily adjourned, we'll return tomorrow at noon!" I stated to the rest of the council. I could hear several agitated sighs of relief as they filed out. Gerg the keeper of foresight wished us the best of luck before following everyone else out leaving me with my twin and her sister in law. I opened the portal to the cabin we had been staying at for the duration of our stressful conferences to find Bill frantically calling out on the the front porch.
"I'm sorry Dipper, they were right here peacefully playing board games, and then someone summoned me, and when I came back they were gone!" Bill wailed as he allowed his triangle form to land in my arms. I restrained from harming him for losing our daughters as I looked down at him.
"How long were you gone for?" I growled through my teeth. I could see that Mabel had lost control of her emotions at the thought of her sons being lost. Her silver Hekomï energy pulsed throughout her as Kandae held her from tearing my Bill apart.
"Six hours..." Bill replied meekly.
"You left them alone for six hours!" I screamed releasing him for gravity. Unfortunately in his current form he just floated. He quickly turned into his human form to try and console me, but his reasoning was broken.
"They could be anywhere!" Mabel cried out as she looked off into the jungle. I began walking in circles before turning back to Bill.
"Using the tracking spell!" I ordered Bill pointing a confident finger in his direction.
"We agreed not to for safety!" Bill gasped before crossing his arms. It was true, the tracking spell required us to activate the demon powers of our eldest daughter. Unfortunately since they were twins and born from eggs, neither me or Bill knew which was the eldest. If it was done wrong, one of our daughters could die.
"Do it or I will!" I replied forcing him to consider. It would be a lot less dangerous if he used the spell rather than I because Bill was able to access the mindscape in the process to prevent damage to the brain. Bill and I knew our share of irreversible brain damage from past events.
"Fine!" Bill grumbled before dawning his triangle form.
"Look guys their back!" Adelaide's voice rang through the field as the four young teens burst through the foliage. Towards the shack. Adelaide pulled me into a warm embrace as Dominic and Desmond mauled their mother with commentary about their adventure. Andrea stayed below the porch as though she were lost in thought. I went to go talk to her, bit Bill beat me as he asked her about her day. The thirteen year old just seemed perturbed as she followed Bill into the house.
"Daddy we found this really creepy bridge, and Adelaide was terrified like a tiny infant!" Andrea giggled snapping me out of my own trance.
"You four shouldn't have gone running off even in the absence of your mother!" I snapped. Bill was essentially their mother as he had been the one to provide the eggs. Andrea looked dumbstruck before nodding her head and sulking into the house. Mabel nodded approvingly before motioning for her twelve year old sons to follow suite.
"I can take them back to Gravity falls with me, Kanar misses his wife and sons greatly!" Kandae offered as Bill reappeared.
"Out of the question they're safe here with me!" Bill countered as he glared at Kandae.
"With all due respect, you've lost our children four times this week, and each time for a longer period of time." Mabel growled showing her disapproval for Bills opinion.
"I can't be entirely blamed for that! Plus, you guys have said it yourselves that they are coming close to full maturity, would it not be safest for them here near the Hekomï central!" Bill replied returning Mabel's glare.
"It's true Bill, but a war is brewing and our children are at risk every time they step into that jungle." I sighed as I looked around us. My muscles were tense for every threat as I looked around. They were in more danger back in Gravity Falls.
"What can I do?" Bill asked while glancing up at the window full of peaking children. I sighed looking to Mabel. Mabel nodded in agreement that it was time.
I spoke with assurance ending the conversation with my words, "bring in the Grunkles!"
