Stanford Pov:
It doesn't take a genius to know when your house has been invaded. I had shownup at the Mystery Shack after one of my many expeditions to find the door wide open. Stanley was at my side as we entered what should have been an empty house. The door creaked from old age as we opened it further to allow ourselves in.
The familiar smell of decay filled the rooms as my twin grabbed for the golf club on the side table. I carefully pulled my handgun from its holster as we exchanged glances. Slowly we walked together back to back as we scanned each room for our unwanted guest, and there at our kitchen table stood human bill chewing on our canned meat.
"Good evening gentlemen," Bill smiled while he looked up at us cheekily.
"What do you want Bill?" I growled as Stanley gained a more comfortable grip on his golf club.
"Relax you two, I'm here for Dipper actually, he apparently needs a better babysitter." Bill replied a slight hint of sourness in his tone.
"Why would you be asking him for us?" Stanley asked skeptically.
"Because he has business to attend to!" Bill snapped back as he stood up and flattened the creases on his suit.
"I wasn't aware that Dipper had children." I stated trying to catch Bill in a bluff.
"Well now you get to meet them!" Bill growled while opening a portal and shoving us into it. I landed on my face only to be assisted to my feet by a familiar looking woman.
"Grunkle Ford, Grunkle Stan!" She squealed while pulling us into a bone crushing embrace. I noticed the shooting star mark on her wrist with silver swirls.
"Mabel?" I asked while looking closer at her. She had changed into a fine woman. I could see the ring around her finger and recalled one of my conversations with her father over the phone claiming that she had married a nice young man from someplace near Gravity Falls.
"Come along you two, you've got to meet the children!" She giggled while leading us both towards a large cottage. One of the elves I remembered from the 'Fleur incident' stood on the porch and walked down to greet us. Mabel passed her a letter sealed with a handmade shooting star sticker before hugging her in farewell.
"This way you two!" Mabel coaxed as she led us up the stairs I hated these stairs immensely due to their lack of a railing. I noticed Bill doing something along the jungle line, but I didn't do anything. The three of us walked into the cottage to be greeted by an exhausted Dipper. Two brown haired twin boys with pointed ears shot out and greeted us. I noted the lion and lamb shapes on each of the wrist of either twin.
"So we'll be watching them for you?" Stanley asked as the one with the lamb mark shook his hand.
"Yes, my sons and Dipper's daughters!" Mabel beamed as she looked at her sons. She
"Adelaide, Andrea they're here!" Dipper shouted and a stampede of footprints was heard as a girl ran down the hall followed by her slower sister. They matched their father in every aspect except for their golden blonde hair which framed their identical faces.
"How many children are we watching?" Stanley groaned as he stretched his back.
"Just the four, and don't worry it's only until our negotiations are over. We would send them home, but there are no hekomi's who could guide our children through the full maturity process." Mabel laughed as though we knew all about what she was talking about. Dipper half smiled as he shooed the children from the room.
"And the fact that Gravity Falls is overrun by psychopaths..." Bill mumbled under his breath as he entered and closed the door.
"You two must be exhausted, teleportation can take a lot of energy." Dipper sighed as he watched the children leave the room. My twin rolled his eyes as he approached his great nephew.
"We're fine kiddo, you look like you haven't slept in days." He stated as Dipper nodded complacently.
"Yes, although I suppose we should show you two to your room..." Dipper rambled as he motioned for us to follow.
"We had to get Andrea to move in with Adelaide, and then we had to get some beds, but I think this room should be enough." Mabel beamed as she signalled for us to enter our designated room. I nodded and entered surprised to see many of our suitcases packed carefully into the closet.
"Oh, and the one most important rule for everyone staying in this shack..." Mabel started to speak.
"Is to never, ever go into the jungle!" Dipper chorused with Mabel as they said the rule aloud.
Bill Pov:
The kids ran outside to the treehouse. While we were renting this cottage someone might as well use the treehouse. I watched the four climb in and start chattering about their great Grunkles. I was a little upset by the impression those elderly men had over me, until Adelaide remarked on how those fossils wouldn't stop her from having fun.
I decided to join the children in their treehouse but as I climbed the ladder a neon green water balloon was tossed from the entrance landing in the middle of my face. Laughter echoed above my head as I shook my head. Another balloon was tossed down missing me by barely a centimetre. Andrea's head appeared over the side to mouth sorry just before a buckets worth of water forced me to slip and fall.
I looked up and sputtered as Adelaide laughed so hard she nearly fell through the opening. Looking over at the cottage I could also see two old farts laughing at my misfortune as well.
"Just you wait Adelaide!" I scolded pointing up in her direction. Her eyes twinkled as she stared down at me. It reminded me of when she was an infant smiling up at me and Dipper. Where had baby gone?
A/N:
I doubt kidnapping Grunkles is legal, but...
