*LOVE CONQUER'S ALL* (Criss Angel Story)

*NINETEEN*

(Criss's p.o.v.)

I took Kc's hand and walked out with her to the back yard...and just watched as Johnny played in the sandbox with the dogs...but she looked at my watch and noticed the time, and ran into the house, and grabbed a bottle out of her purse...then she ran outside and told Johnny to come over, that it was time for his medicine...he crinkled his nose, but scampered over to her, she sat down and told him to keep it under his tongue until it dissolved like a big boy...he held it there until it was gone...then showed me that it was all gone...then she asked him what kind of juice he'd like in his sippy cup...he turned around and asked her for gape joose...

I followed her as she went back inside, and asked her what the medicine was for...she looked at me and said he was a sick little boy, and that medicine keeps the pains on a down-low before they could flare up on him...I grabbed her and asked her what our son had...she turned around and said very clearly that he had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia...and until she could get him a long-term doctor to set up chemo treatments...that the pills would have to do...but it was something that she and all their friends have been helping her with since he was born...and so far he's only had two very bad spells that scared her...right now he seems to be doing ok.

I looked at her as I started to cry...for my dad died of cancer in my arms...and now she was telling me that our little boy had a different type of cancer...she held onto me, and told me that we were going to get through this and that our son was going to be alright...for he was strong just like his daddy...and he had his whole life to live...and he was going to live it...I looked out the window at my little boy, and the tears rolled down my face again...still not being able to cope with the idea of the slightest chance of losing my little boy...to that terrible fucking disease that no child should have to go through...for he did nothing wrong...to deserve that fate...he was such a good and very sweet little boy.

I quickly snapped out of it when my phone rang...Kc looked at me as I told her it was Jd...she smiled at me and said when was she and Johnny going to see my crazy big brothers...and my incredible and amazing mommy...I slowly answered, the phone and told him right away...that I found the love of my life...and that we were both at Serenity together...then added that I also had a surprise package that I just found out about a couple days ago, when I found her...and told him that he needed to let Costa and mom know that I was home and that they needed to come and visit real soon...to say hi to Kc, for she remembered all of them and really wanted to see them again...for she really missed mama D.

Jd told me that he would relay the message, and then they'd be heading in that direction, but it probably wouldn't be until tomorrow, beens it was a little late...I told him that was fine, then told him to tell everyone that I loved them and that I'd see them tomorrow. Even though it was getting late...Johnny and Kc were still outside, playing...for being in Vegas, it was very warm out...and the incredible lighting I had around the house, made it very visible to see no matter how dark it was out...Johnny raced up the incline to me, then he looked up at me and said daddy me hungwy...I looked at him and said I was hungry too, I grabbed my phone and called in takeout orders...for it was too late to ask Kc to cook a meal. Ten minutes later, a food cab pulled up in the driveway, and I went around and paid the man, then brought in the already cooked meal, and set the table, then walked out back and told them food was ready.

We three ate quietly together, afterward...I noticed Johnny coughing a little hard...but when I looked at Kc, she told me that it was one of the side-effects of the medicine he took...I cleaned his face off, then kissed his forehead...Kc cleaned up the mess and headed upstairs to get Johnny's bath ready...when she hollered for him, I turned around and told him to hop on, and daddy would give him a ride...Johnny giggled as he jumped on my back...and I gave him a piggy back ride up the stairs and into the bathroom...I spun him around in a full circle before kneeling down for Kc to grab him...then I went into his room and grabbed him some clean underwear, and his pj's...Kc washed him up all squeaky clean then she washed his hair with his special blue baby shampoo.

I grabbed one of the towels and waited for her to hand him to me...I dried him off and ruffled up his hair...then I put his underwear and his footed jammies on...Kc handed me his soft green dino brush, and I brushed his hair...then Kc grabbed his little foot stool so he could brush his teeth...as Kc went back into his new bedroom and rolled his covers down for him to get into...I put a little wall night light in the hallway so he could see to get to the bathroom. I heard him calling me saying he was done, but couldn't weech the light. I went into the bathroom and picked him up and gave him a smooch, then turned off the light. 

Once we made it into his new room, Kc had his bed all ready for him...I kissed him again then sat him in his bed...where he snuggled down very quickly, then held out his arms for his mommy...she knelt down and gave him his goodnight hugs and kisses, then handed him his bunny...we both told our little man night night...then we went to our room, and stripped down and crawled into bed...where I just held onto her and cried about our son...she held me tightly and cried with me, then after I got it out of my system, I told her we were going to make him the happiest boy on the planet...no matter what...then I turned off the lights, and snuggled up to her and told her I loved her to no end...and that tomorrow my brothers and mom would be here to meet Johnny and see her again...she turned to me and kissed me very passionately, and said she loved me always and forever...then we both fell asleep...but I kept both of my ears open in case our son needed us.
