Chapter One: Wherefore art thou Romeo?

Dark, cold, and beautiful.

I was at one of my favorite hiding spots. This place was a high ground, a hill, on the outskirts of the city. Binghamton is really beautiful at night. With all of the colorful, bright lights and everything. Having a breathtaking scenery is only one of the perks of this secret place, it's also quite peaceful. That was why I love spending most of my time here. No car noises, no people chatting, talking, shouting, or laughing. No sound at all.

"Hey, Jules!"

Sigh. Well it was fun while it lasted.

Meet Noah Stone, the most annoying person in the world. He was a jock, used to play football when he was in high school. When he graduated, he entered Columbia University in New York City to pursue his favorite sport.

You could say he was the complete package. Raven black hair. Stormy grey eyes. A tall, muscular body. And an optimistic, kind, caring personality. Girls worshiped the ground he walked on, they dream about shagging him. Ugh. . . gross. That thought only made me want to gag. He could have any girl he wants, he could choose any girl that he would annoy.

But, unfortunately, he chose to annoy ME.

If he lives in another city, three hours away from here, how does he annoy me, you ask? To answer your question, it's because he always comes back on weekends; so he ALWAYS visits when he gets the chance to.

Oh, it gets better. When he's not so busy with college, he stays in the city for one or two nights. Which gives him more free time to spend with me.

Yay.

"What do you want, Stone?" I was annoyed that he actually found me at my secret hiding spot. And here I thought he could never find me, how stupid of me.

I give up, this guy is too hard to get rid of.

"I came to spend time with you, Jules." I used to argue with him about the stupid nicknames; I wasn't a fan about names other than my own, but soon I gave up. There were even worse nicknames, like Jay Jay and Lettie.

The whole thing was embarrassing, he just wouldn't stop being so annoying.

I sighed in frustration when he sat next to me, but I kept quiet. I got used to his presence around me most of the time. Besides, it's summer vacation now.

I have to tolerate more of his presence because he's staying here for the summer. Lucky me.

I actually met Noah when I was a freshman, and he was a junior. It was at the school's football game. My best friend's boyfriend was on the team, and she wanted me to cheer for him for support. Ryan's actually my friend, too. So I had to be there for him.

"It's really nice sitting here, in front of this beautiful scenery, with you." His deep voice sounded so soft when those words left his mouth. I thought it was weird, to be honest. He's always the happy and loud one. So why does he sound so different? Maybe even . . . nostalgic?

I glanced at him and realized he was staring intently at me. I immediately looked away and let my bangs fall and hide my face, so he won't question me about why was I as red as a tomato.

Why was he being quiet? Why was he acting so unlike himself? And what was I even worrying about? I mean, should I be worried?
