M'gann walked into the Church Connor and Maya were supposed to get married at.
"Hey M'gann," Artemis said as she saw her friend walk in. She hugged M'gann gently, trying not to squish the bundle in her arms. Artemis and Wally had just had their first child 2 months ago.
"Hey Artemis, am I late?" M'gann asked.
"No. The wedding starts in about 15 minutes. Come sit with us," Artemis said.
"I'll be right there," M'gann said. Artemis nodded and left to go find a seat. M'gann walked down the hall, trying to find Connor, to wish him good luck. She found him in a room fixing his tie. "Hey Connor."
Connor jumped at the sound of her voice and turned around. "Hey M'gann!" He said and rushed over to hug her. She felt something wet on her shoulder looked to see Connor crying. She smiled and wiped them off.
"Nervous?" Connor nodded.
"What am I doing? I shouldn't be crying. This is a happy day," Connor said and turned away from M'gann, but she could tell he was still crying.
"Connor, do you love Maya?" Connor's back was still turned. "Do you?"
Connor turned back around, "N-Yes. Yes, I do li-love Maya."
"Then what are you afraid of. She's perfect for you. Blonde hair...."
"I always preferred auburn," Connor said looking at M'gann. She smiled, and then stopped.
"Connor, I-I have to go. Congratulations," M'gann said and quickly walked out of the room. Was he saying he still loved her? No, he loves Maya, he moved on. She walked into where Artemis was sitting. Barbara, Cassie, Karen, and Zatanna were all bridesmaids, and Wally, Dick, Tim, and Mal were groomsmen. Artemis would have been a bridesmaid, but she didn't want to leave Iris with anyone else. And, of course, Maya didn't invite M'gann, Artemis did. Maya didn't like M'gann. The only reason why Artemis was here was because of Connor. The last thing Maya wanted was a baby to cry in the middle of the ceremony.
Connor walked onto the alter and stood there with the priest, rubbing his neck. He looked very nervous, but then saw M'gann and smiled. M'gann smiled back and Artemis looked at M'gann.
"What?" M'gann asked.
"Is Connor smiling at you?" Artemis asked.
"What? No. Definitely not. He's smiling at someone else," M'gann said, trying to hide her blush.
"Right...." Artemis said right before the music started playing. The congregation stood up and watched as the bridesmaids and groomsmen made their way to the alter. Then came Maya, in all her glory, smiling at Connor. She strutted down the aisle like a pageant queen. M'gann held her breath as Maya passed. Here it comes, there's nothing you can do about it, was the look Maya had on her face when she passed M'gann. Maya joined Connor on the alter and took his hands. The priest said, "Please sit," and everyone sat down.
After the rights the priest said, "Speak now or forever hold your peace."
M'gann looked at Artemis, and she nodded. "Connor can't marry Maya, I love him too much to let him go," M'gann said and stood up. Connor looked relieved.
"Megan, I should've known. Why are you here? To bring misery to my fiancé once again? Haven't you cause enough trouble?" Maya said then turned to the priest. "Continue."
"As you wish," the Priest said. "I now pronounce you..."
"Please Connor, this isn't what you want," M'gann said with tears in her eyes. Connor looked at her and winked.
"I can't marry Maya, I don't love her," Connor said.
"What?! Connor we've been planning this for months! What do you mean you don't love me?!" Maya said.
"I don't love you. I love Megan Morse. More than she'll ever know," Connor said. Maya angrily took off the engagement ring and threw it at Connor, and then stomped down the aisle, her family following her. M'gann jumped out of her seat and ran towards Connor, wrapping her arms around him. He hugged her and then kissed her. Dick and Barbara smirked.
"About time," Wally mumbled.
"Will you marry me M'gann?" Connor asked holding up the engagement ring that Maya threw at him. M'gann smiled and nodded.
"Will you perform the marriage rights on us?" M'gann asked. The priest rolled his eyes but nodded. Artemis smiled as everyone else clapped. After they had said "I do," M'gann and Connor kissed, the best kiss M'gann had ever had.
"Dude, you better slow it down. You could make a baby with that kiss," Wally said and pulled his wife close.
"Now would that be so bad?" Connor asked and M'gann laughed. Today was the happiest day of her life.
