Seven months later.

"Happy Birthday Princess!!"  Screamed an ecstatic Kimberly as she jumped up and down on my bed, successfully waking me up from dreamland. Damn.. And I was dreaming Channing Tatum.
She is 17 and I swear she acts as though she's five.

I just smile and sit up, attempting to rub the sleep from my eyes while Kimberly eyes me suspiciously. "Its your eighteenth birthday, aren't you excited Princess?" She asked, using my dad's nickname for me. " I just laughed at her and said, " What's there to be excited for?"

Well, let's just say I shouldn't have said that because that question earned me a punch to my right arm as Kimberly fumed with anger.
It's pretty funny if you ask me. I hadn't even realized I was smiling till, Kim's pissed off voice brought me out of my thoughts.
"Being eighteen! You could now be my guardian! Also, need I remind you, your Wolf! Aren't you excited for your wolf?!" She screamed. I just laughed.
"Omg, I wonder what color she'll be? She might be brown, or black, omg she could be blonde!!" She said at the top of her voice and started rambling on and on about my wolf, a wold that I  haven't even gotten yet.

Although, putting some thought into it, I forgot my birthday was even this close, much less remembering it was today. That means I could get my wolf at any time. Wow.
Since we left the Crimson Pack we've been living in a human town since we are still basically humans.
We've both gotten jobs, Kim got a job as a Waitress at a little diner in the town and I work as a cashier at the local supermarket.

Its pretty cool if you ask me, being out of a pack. Kim pays the rent for our two bedroom apartment and I buy the groceries so everything's really easy and life's great. I honestly am not a follower, I prefer being a leader. I couldn't want anything better, although, when someone gets their wolf.. They also find their mate and I'm not sure if I'm ready for that right now but I'll hope for the best.

I look up from my bed toward my bedside table and smile when I see that Kim has made me breakfast, I look closer and realize it's an omlet..with cheese, two slices of bread, a slice of grapefruit and a glass of orange juice.
I smile inwardly knowing that we'll always be there for each other and I know she must be a little angry as I didn't appreciate her efforts to cheer me up for my birthday.

So I get up, slip on my robe and go in search of my best friend.
