kyle chuckled to himself as he watched his friends act like fools. they were getting ready to go to a big halloween party in hollywood and since most of them were underage, they decided to pregame at their friend's ryland's house.
"so who was that girl, dys?" his friend cole asked, standing next to him. "the one you left with? never seen her before."
"an old friend from back home." kyle replied with a sigh as he took a swig from the bottle of hennessy.
"home? as in texas?" cole's eyes widened.
kyle just nodded his head as he took another swig. he prayed his friends didn't pry and ask him questions, because honestly he wasn't in the mood for it. and luckily they didn't.
however all he could think about was brinley and their encounter a couple nights ago. she looked the same, her hair was a couple inches longer and she had gotten rid of the blonde strands. her laugh from what he could remember from the blurry night was still the same and just thinking about it made him weak in the knees.
after about half an hour, their uber had arrived. they finished smoking the blunt and downed a couple more shots before the party. once they step foot in the venue, they were met with familiar faces of hollywood. kyle said hi to a couple of his friends before heading to the open bar.
he wanted to forget about brinley. he was able to do so the past four years, but when he saw her again he felt guilty for just leaving her.
"you okay, dysn?"
kyle looked over his shoulder and saw his friend sahar staring at him with a concern look. he nodded his head and sipped on his drink.
"c'mon let's go dance!" she smiled at him.
"i'm not in the mood. sorry sahar." he frowned.
sahar shrugged it off before finding their friends, leaving kyle to think even more about the person he's become. he finished his drink and made his way out to the patio where everyone was smoking. he found his good friend jaxon who had just lit a blunt.
"can i get a hit?" kyle asked.
jaxon took a huff before handing it to his buddy.
"rumor has it you left with some mystery girl." jaxon wiggled his eyebrows.
"yeah," kyle shrugged.
"bro, what's wrong? we're supposed to be having a good time tonight." jaxon nudged him.
"it was brinley." he sighed as he dug his hands into his pockets.
"brinley? brinley as in your ex girlfriend from back home brinley?" jaxon asked.
"yeah, that one." kyle mumbled.
"how'd that happen?"
"i don't know, i'll tell you about it later." kyle said taking the blunt from him.
kyle took a long drag from it before continuing the rotation. he sat down on the couch, sighing as he tried his best to think of anything besides brinley. he shut his eyes, hoping it'd help.
