brinley woke up unsure where she was, but she was sure her head was throbbing, she felt nauseous, confused, hungover, and snuggled up real close to a guy. it had been weeks since she made a stupid mistake of having a one night stand. she mentally face palmed herself for being so stupid and allowing it to happen once more. she fluttered her eyes open and tried to get a glimpse of the guy but she could barely take in her surroundings. everything still felt hazy.

she felt him shift under her arm but still couldn't see his face since he was facing the other direction. she tried her best to turn her head to see but it felt like someone was poking her brain with a chopstick.

"you move too much." he mumbled.

brinley remembered that groggy voice from anywhere. she tried her best to sit up but every time she moved an inch she felt like she was going to throw up.

"calm down, nothing happened between us." kyle mumbled. his face was still facing the other direction and his eyes were still closed as well. "theres a cup of water right on the night stand for you. trash can is right by you too if you need to yack."

"thanks," brinley said as she forced herself up.

kyle turned his head towards her. "how're you feeling?" he asked.

he opened his eyes to see a very confused brinley with her legs pulled up to her chest. she ran her hand through her long hair, pulling it over on to one side.

"like shit." brinley answered. "what happened last night? how did i end up here and in bed with you?"

brinley placed her hand on her forehead, unsure why she did so. it wasn't going to stop the pain in any way.

"well," kyle cleared his throat as he sat up. "that guy who you were talking to last night kinda roofied your drink. i tried to warn you but you didn't listen. still hardheaded as ever." he rolled his eyes. "twenty minutes to half an hour later you didn't look or feel too well so i brought you back here. your friend arya was too drunk to drive your car back and i'm pretty sure she was busy with jaxon."

brinley lightly chuckled. "ow, it even hurts to laugh. thanks for making sure i was okay."

"i changed you into something more comfortable. and i made sure there was space between us last night when we were sleeping but you kept shivering and scooting closer to me. it was a mixture of that and you sweating."

"shit, i'm sorry kyle." brin pouted her lips as she turned to face him.

"it's okay, brin. i'm just glad you're okay." his lips curved into a soft smile.

"god i feel so gross and sticky. do you think i can take a quick shower before i head out?" she asked.

kyle chuckled as he nodded his head. "go for it. bathroom is down the hallway on the right. i'll go grab you a towel."

kyle got out of bed and headed down the hallway. he grabbed a clean towel from the linen closet while brinley headed to the bathroom. he handed it to her as she stood in the doorway smiling at him. while she was in the bathroom, he decided to make some breakfast since both his sisters were up and laughing obnoxiously in their rooms about god knows what.

after quickly brushing his teeth and doing his morning business, he decided to whip up some chocolate chip pancakes, his specialty. he heated up the skillet and poured some of the batter onto it once it was sizzling.
