You stood in front of your classroom door, class 3-4.
There wasn't anything to be afraid about, and there was definitely nothing new. The summer break was over, and it was time to get back to studying and playing volleyball.
But why am I standing out here like an idiot?
"Good morning, (l/n)-chan."
You froze upon hearing the voice, chills electrocuting you from up and down your spine. It was no doubt the voice of a captain, a very scary one at that.
You turned your head to face the two boys walking towards you. One had deep brown hair and matching eyes that were friendly. The other was an all too familiar sight; silver hair parted in the middle and hazel eyes with a gentle, sincere, and polite glint.
It had seemed like ages since you saw or talked to these boys.
"Daichi," You smiled before turning to the other, your smile falling by the slightest, "Sugawara."

"How have you been?" Daichi slapped your back, causing you to rub the back of your neck.
"Uh," You looked up at him, "Practicing."
"Don't tell me you overworked yourself?" Sugawara chimed in, his brows furrowing.
"No, no. Of course not." You awkwardly said, waving your hands in the air in an attempt to sound convincing.
"Then what's that?"
He pointed to the KT tape on your leg.
She's such a bad liar. He thought.
He always sees right through me. She thought.
"I just pulled something. Nothing to worry about, I promise."
"Ok well, are you going in?" Daichi asked.
"Oh, right!"

You sat in the same spot, and so did he. You were at the corner, and he was three rows away near the back of the class.
After attendance, you didn't really pay attention to the lecture. The first weeks passed, and you watched the morning PE students run around the field every class.
There was something Shimizu had asked you right before summer, and honestly you hated yourself for even considering it.
"Help me manage the boys volleyball team." She stared hard at you from behind her glasses.
You were about to reject, but then she got on her knees and placed her forehead on the back of her hands.
"Please, (l/n)-san!" She begged, "Sugawara-kun hasn't been the same and—"
