BABYSUCCULENT ty so much for letting me use this plot i am so in love with it
***daniel laid back on his bed, his throat raw from screaming and his lungs burning. he had to remind himself to breathe, swallowing large gulps of air sporadically, shaking in his bed.
his nails scratched at his sheets and he listened acutely, his ears picking up the slightest noise throughout the building. down the hall, he could hear a boy whispering to himself near the door to his cell.
he wondered what the boy's name was.
suddenly, dan moaned loudly, thrashing his arms and legs, his head hitting the wall. his lips quivered and he opened his mouth, a piercing scream erupting from his lips. his throat screamed back, begging him to stop, but he couldn't. he continued to hit his head against the wall, tears beginning to stream down his cheeks, as he called for his mother.
other patients were startled awake, a few of them beginning to wail along with the boy. the corridor lights came on, burning dan's eyes and increasing the volume of his screams.
dan's brain began to feel like jelly, and he threw his head against the wall once more, hearing the wall crack; and now blood was dripping into his eyes, mixing with his tears.
the door to daniel's room was opened, and before he could process what was going on, dan was ripped out of his bed and onto the floor. he continued to scream as someone sat on his stomach, the pressure bringing a glorious pain to the bruises littered there. he squirmed, gasping out a small sound and opening his eyes wide.
"please! please, give me more! i need these galaxies to stay, don't let them fade. mother!" daniel thrashed violently, feeling his vocal chords strain.
the person sitting on top of dan shouted something indecipherable to another employee, gripping dan's wrists and pinning them above his head. he bucked up, making a weak attempt to throw the person off of him, and screamed louder. his fingernails dug into the soft flesh of his palms; he could practically hear the skin break, and he pushed his nails further in, eventually feeling blood pool beneath his nails.
someone else ran into the room, handing the doctor on top of dan a syringe. dan's eyes bulged and he began to cry more, his screams slowly subsiding. he shook his head wildly, trying to get out of the doctor's grip.
"n-no, please. i'll stop, i promise i'll stop, just please don't do that," he whimpered, bringing his shoulders up to cover his neck.
the doctor frowned. "i'm sorry daniel, but i'm afraid this is protocol. sleep well."
dan sucked in sharp breaths through his teeth, closing his eyes tightly. the warmth of his tears slid down the sides of his face, dropping into the shells of his ears. he let out a sob as a needle punctured his neck, his breath becoming erratic. his senses perked and he could feel the cool liquid entering his bloodstream, spreading to his fingertips like a wildfire.
he opened his eyes as much as possible as he felt himself being picked up. he knew he was being taken to the medical ward; dry blood caked to his forehead, and he could feel the stinging of his hands as more blood seeped out of the crescent shaped wounds.
as they walked down the hall, his eyes met with someone else's. they stood at the window of their door, watching him. his messy black hair just barely covered blue eyes that sent a shiver through dan's body - and for the first time in a long time, he felt scared of someone.
