Corrine awoke with a smile gracing her lips, and she felt a slight pain in lower abdomen.
She deduced she was naked by the way she rubbed against the dark sheets, but she didn't expect to find was a naked male sleeping right next to her.
She drew in a sharp breath and tried to scramble off the bed without waking him up.
In the mirror, she noticed bruises lining her hips where Roman delved his fingers last night, and she was shocked. He left marks?
Since he ripped her shirt, she grabbed one from his drawer and slipped it over her head quickly to hide the bruises from her view. After she tugged on her jeans and shoes and ran out the door as fast as she could.
She felt a nagging feeling in the back of her head, telling her to turn around and go back to him, but she ignored it.
No more walking through the woods at night, she thought as she jogged to her apartment.
"Where were you last night?" Thalia took a Swedish Fish from the packet and popped it into her mouth. "You didn't call me when you got home."
Corrine forced a smile on her face. "Oh, sorry, I was busy studying and it must've slipped my mind."
Thalia playfully glared at her. "Better be studying. Just remember to call, alright? There's word on the street about attacks."
Her heartbeat spiked. "A-attacks?"
"Recently, there's been wolf attacks all around town, and they're advising the college kids not to go out late," she explained. "That's why I'm worrisome for you."
"It's okay," Corrine reassured her, "I'm fine."
The next day, as they were sitting in the campus ground, having lunch, she saw him.
Roman was leaning against a tree, talking to another guy, and as if he felt someone looking at him, he glanced up into her eyes.
She saw his eyebrows raise and he said goodbye to his friend before starting his way over to her.
"Um, I'm not feeling too well, I think I'll just eat in the Thurman Cafe," Corrine stuttered out before jogging away from her friend.
When she was finally at the eating hall, she sighed in relief.
Noticing her friend Aaron sitting by himself, she sat down in front of him and continued to make small chat and eat together. But a thought kept nagging her mind.
Roman goes to this school? For Christ sakes, can someone give me a break? She thought with annoyance.
Corrine said goodbye to Aaron before walking to her next class, Introduction to Mythology.
That particular class she never really enjoyed much, since she didn't believe in all the silly nonsense they went on about.
Before she could reach for the door handle to the lecture, she was tugged backwards and spun around into Roman's arms.
She gasped and he covered her mouth and pushed her into an empty lecture hall.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Corrine questioned, glaring at her.
Roman sent her a lazy smile and trailed his gaze over her body. "Reminiscing."
She blushed and looked down at the floor.
