my friends are all being crazily annoying about now considering it's like 4am
today was extremely tiring, considering we hiked up steep hills for like 7 hours with heavy hiking bags
overall it was a pretty fun experience
enough complaining though, why not write? :))

Melanies P.o.V
Jackie and I stumble out of my apartment, arm in arm onto the busy street opposite my place.
Jackie raises her arm to hail a cab. She looks over at me before smiling then slowly looks down at her feet.
I notice her trying to hide the worry on her face as silence quickly fills the air.
I let out a small sigh and feel my heart deflate, I can't imagine how anxious Jackie must be about Josh, maybe telling her everything will be okay wasn't the best idea..
A dozen thoughts fill my head as I try to
think of ways to protect my best friend, maybe we shouldn't go to the party."Melanie?" her soft voice, barely audible, slowly fills the silence as her head tilts up, confronted with my sympathetic expression. "Do you promise he won't y-you know.."
Tears slowly and silently stream down her cheeks without any warning.
"Jackie!" I frown and wrap my arms around her. "You know what, I think it's best we don't go to the party, I'm sure Miles would understand." I smile, pleased at my idea and the thought of being a good friend as well as taking care of mine.
"W-What about Josh?" her voice trembles whilst saying his name, her face filling with fear.
"I'll take care of it, I promise." I intertwine my fingers with hers and gently squeeze her hand while pulling her onto my shoulder. "Jacks, You have nothing to worry about, okay?"
She slowly shakes her head.
"M-Melanie, y'know he's gonna be super mad r-right?" I shake my head and give her a disapproving look, feeling anger towards Josh.
"He doesn't own you Jackie, you have the right to do what you want." I protest, annoyed at the way her abusive boyfriend is making her feel. He's too possessive and dominant of Jackie, it makes me sick. (yikes)
"But you don't understand! He doesn-"
A cab finally pulls up alongside us, cutting her off and barely spraying us with the rainwater it had run over.
She frowns and looks down at her outfit which is still intact, no water damage had impacted her new outfit. We both enter the backseat of the cab in one swift movement and I tell the driver to take us to the nearest ice cream shop.
Jackie looks at me and gives me a mere smile, thrilled at the fact we're getting ice cream.
She slowly leans her head onto my shoulder as we approach a strip of local stores. I wrap an arm around her and look ahead, thinking of ways to get rid of Josh, safely. I start thinking of Miles, and if he knows about what Josh does to Jackie, and if he cares.
