Premier Donnerick Zammitt; the newly elected Premier of the Earth Council had finally decided to hear the pleas of Prof. Moore and Mr. Muller. Vincent Moore, the father of Volga and Vézian appealed many times to the Earth Council for sending a special searching mission to Mars. Similarly, Mr Sergey Muller also appealed for the same. For the last twenty years, both the families were trying hard to find their son and daughter who lost in the unknown part of the red planet.
Sending search mission to Mars was not an easy task to do; it was not only expensive, but also required permission from all the provinces as well as the Ministry. The Ministry of Extraterrestrial Defence and the Ministry of Outer Space Diplomacy were not agreeing with their applications. The Earth Council did not like to interfere in the Martian North and strictly gave instruction to the space commuters for not interfering in the affairs of the aliens.
Prof. Vincent Moore had given up hope of getting justice from the Earth Council. He was cursing his fate of living in this 'Space Age'; he had a long life of more than hundred years and this long life was giving him nothing but misery. His organic computer chip alerted that a new mail had come in his inbox. He pressed his right wrist and the superficial skin showed a disc shaped computer chip inside his skin. He pressed the right side of the chip and a screen appeared in the air. He opened his e-mail and checked the mailbox.
There was an unread mail; a mail from the Earth Council; better to say a reply of his application. Prof. Moore hesitated to open it. If the Council rejected it, it would be for the third time and he could not bear the rejection anymore. However, he had to give a reply as a courtesy. He opened the mail and found that the Council had finally accepted. He read the mail thrice and still could not believe.
"Aresya, come here;" Prof. Moore shouted in joy. His wife Aresya, a woman of ninety five years came hurriedly in the balcony. She was still in bed robes; her brown hairs were uncombed and eyes were floppy; she had not brushed her teeth yet; "What's wrong with you?" She asked.
"Did not the new robot serve you tea? I think I had programmed him last night." She thought that her husband might have complaints regarding the new robot cook.
"No, dear; the robot is fine; it has prepared a nice tea and also gave cookies along with the tea; but I want to tell you something else. I have got a new mail from..." He paused.
"From Vézian? How is my son? Ask him to come back." She pleaded.
"Dear, I cannot; you know him very well. Anyway, this mail is from the Earth Council not from your son." Prof. Moor said; "Please sit down."
Aresya did not sit on a vacant chair next to her husband; she went to the other side of the balcony and sat on a canopied swing. She looked at the sky and said, "Rejected again." She tried to hide her tears, "Please don't expect anything from them."
"No, they agreed this time; the new Premier has agreed and convinced both the Ministries to send special forces for searching Erik and Volga. Now we have to do some formalities." He said.
Aresya left the swing chair and came hurriedly towards Prof. Moore; she also read the mail and saw the attached sealed letter. Premier Donnerick Zammitt had signed and sealed the letter with the logo of the Blue Planet Earth surrounded by a circlet of parsley leaves. It was the official logo of the Earth Council.
"He is an angel to us; please inform Mr. Muller right now." She said.
For the last twenty years, both the families had fought together to find their children; but they were not getting support from anywhere. The first time, the Earth Council rejected and said that it was Volga and Erik's fault that they interfered in Martian people's affairs. They were scientists, not social reformers; they need not challenge Martian kings or fighters. On the second time, the Earth Council refused due to insufficient fund and manpower and at last, the third time they accepted it.
