The white building of the Dei Maneret was looking bluish in the early morning's sunlight. It was the Seventh day of the week, and on that day, all official works of the kingdom remained adjourned; schools and markets also remained closed. The people of the Kingdom spent their time in leisure activities. On the Seventh Day of the week, King Ergonn visited to the Dei Maneret and spent some time in the Sanctum Sanctorum along with the seers. He also visited the destitute homes and distributed food and clothes among the poor. The Grand Seer was expecting Oeilna to come here and distribute clothes among the poor women living in a quarter adjacent to the Dei Maneret. However, Ergonn had come alone and he admitted that he had something to tell the Grand Seer in private.
After worshipping the Sea God; Ergonn started distributing clothes among the orphan children. D'eimeonn and Arold were helping him. Ergonn asked Amerik to help his soldiers to keep food bags inside the storeroom. The Grand Seer noticed that Warlord H'orden was not with the King. Though he did not like Warlord of Sargoshi's disappearance from public affairs, but also feared about something unexpected. The Grand Seer remained seated on a four legged wooden divan without any backrest or handles. He was used to sit on hard wood or stone rather than on soft cushions. He was sitting upright, his jaws were tightened as he was thinking something serious and his right hand was holding the Rod of Justice tightly in his grip. Whenever, a man or a woman bowed to the Grand Seer, he was raising his right hand upward to show his blessing. His left hand's palm was on his left knee and he was unconsciously rubbing the white robe on his knee.
Two High Seers in white long robes were standing at the both sides of the Grand Seer. Some Trainee Seers were supervising the queue of the Alm-receivers. In the first half of the Hour of Afternoon, Ergonn finally finished his charitable work. He requested the Grand Seer to show him, the damaged library. The Grand Seer tightened his lips and got up from his seat; "As you wish; King Ergonn. Follow me, only you, not your men."
King Ergonn and the Grand Seer started walking towards the wooden staircase that led to the House of Knowledge. Noises of their footsteps started echoing around the place. The Grand Seer was climbing up those steps with the help of the thin wooden railing, but Ergonn was climbing up without support. The staircase leading to the House of Knowledge was one of the few staircases in the Dei Maneret, which had railings; otherwise, most of the staircases had no support.
"I have received my inquiry committee's report;" King Ergonn said, "They have reported that it was the Hour of Midnight when some of your men heard suspicious noises inside the House of Knowledge, some of your men went upstairs and saw bluish smoke all around the area." Ergonn paused.
"King Ergonn, we Seers and Healers have only one thing to do in our life and it is acquiring knowledge. So, the House of knowledge always remained open. I don't know whether that night any of my brothers remained in the reading room; but when I was informed, it was too late. I saw blue smoke was coming out from the topmost floor of the building and some men were searching something. I heard footsteps of many people. Many of my brothers, even the men and children living in our orphanage as well as homes; also came out. They were already there. Your soldiers asked everyone and recorded each one of them's accounts; but my King, I like to share you about something, which I did not tell anyone, not even your officers and Warlord H'orden." He paused.
"Yes, Please tell me, Your Divinity." King Ergonn politely asked.
"Don't waste your time; it is not the work of ordinary men; Firephenys, the creatures from the TerraTenebris are doing all these things. They can easily disguise themselves in any form and know many powerful spells. Be careful and choose your men prudently; I can foresee danger for you and your realm." The Grand Seer said coldly as he was predicting some catastrophe in the near future.
