War and Peace

Brood the mind, I sat in ponder,
Behold the world, now a malevolent wonder.
For told the lies, the curse, the betrayal,
The evolution of cries, with doom at bay.

When will we change, a better tomorrow,
Where resides Pandora's hope,
Bejeweled without sorrow?

Alas, I roam, searching for peace,
Something, anything, to put mind at ease.
As I turned away from Heaven and Earth,
Searching for joy, like a sapling in dirt.

Should soft words cease the war beyond,
Lest this war's curse burn us down to the ground.

(Written in honour of the victims of war and violence worldwide.)
