"Daddy? Can we go park?" Bella runs into Justin's room on a sunny morning at the weekend. Justin, having been pulling on a shirt, looks up and smiles.
He hasn't actually made any plans for the next two days so maybe spending the weekend with his daughter would be nice.
"Yep. Go get your shoes on then." Justin grins, and Bella runs off giggling.
Justin quickly jogs into Bella's room, knowing she'll have forgotten to actually get her shoes, and then walks downstairs to find her twisting her sandy hair around her finger, confusion written across her face.
"Daddy I can't find them." She pouts, but then tilts her head to the side when she sees Justin carrying them.
"You forgot to get them silly." He chuckles, tickling her chin.
She squeals and laughs loudly, before willingly perching on the bottom step so her father can tie her shoes.
When he's done, Justin grabs Bella's coat off the hook and wraps it around her tiny frame to keep her warm.
"Let's go Bells." Justin grips onto Bella's small hand and leads her out of the house, locking the door.
"Daddy can I tell you something?" She skips along, occasionally glancing up at her dad.
"Sure." He smiles, looking down at her soft brown eyes.
"Ok. Last day, I was playing with LiLi-"
"You mean yesterday sweetheart." Justin chuckles, correcting his daughter's mistake.
"Oh yeah. Well me and LiLi were playing princess and prince and then he asked if I want to go to his birthday!" Her face stretches into the biggest smile Justin has ever seen which makes him smile also.
"Really?! You know, boys have cooties."
"What's coo-ties?" Bella wrinkles her nose and knits her eyebrows together.
"You shouldn't hang out with them because then you'll get pregnant and die." Justin lies, watching Bella's whole face screw up.
"What?" Bella giggles at her dad as if to say 'your stupid' and carries on skipping. "What does pregnant mean?"
"Uh... Not now baby girl, I'll tell you when your older." Justin sighs and ruffles her hair, feeling relieved that he narrowly escaped that.
"Okay."
Bella and Justin arrive at the park a few minutes later, Justin taking a seat on a bench nearby the playground so he can keep an eye on his daughter.
She runs off to play with the other kids, and Justin plays a game on his phone for a little while.
"Mind if I sit here?" A gentle voice says. Justin swears he recognises it but is too engrossed in his game to look up.
"No not at all." He mumbles.
But when he hears his daughter scream a certain brunette boy's name, he knows exactly who the voice belongs to.
He peers up and sure enough, Ariana is sitting there, her long hair laying over her shoulders, watching Liam.
"Hi Ariana." Justin smiles, gulping when she looks at him again. She looks beautiful, and he can't help but feel nervous around her.
"Hey. You sure like that game!" She giggles, flipping her hair and glancing at her son.
"Oh, that..." Justin scratches the back of his neck awkwardly and turns bright red. Ariana laughs at him, bringing her hand up to her mouth.
Justin chuckles a bit too, feeling embarrassed.
"Don't worry about it. I'm rather a Candy Crush addict myself." She whispers and both adults laughter rings out together.
"I'm sure you are." He speaks quickly, the natural tan returning to his cheeks.
"So, has Bella told you about the party invite?" She asks and Justin giggles.
"She won't shut up about it."
"So your coming?" She replies cheekily and he chuckles, already knowing he's going to have to come whether he likes it or not.
"I think we can arrange something."
"You wanna grab ice cream after this?" Ariana grins, showing her dimples and Justin grins too, nodding his head.
"I would love to. And I'm sure Bella would too!"Really short sorryyyy...
