Today is Liam's fifth birthday.
Ariana and her son have invited only Justin and Bella to spend the day with them, because Ariana doesn't have the energy to deal with tons of screaming toddlers.
"Mommy!" Liam jumps on top of Ariana at the crack of dawn, a huge grin adorning his face. "It's my birthday!"
Ariana giggles, shooting her arms out to grab Liam, bringing him under the covers for a cuddle.
"You're growing up too fast." She mutters, ruffling his already scruffy hair. "Lets go open your gifts."
Liam scrambles off the bed and runs out of the room as fast as his little legs can carry him.
Ariana giggles and steps out of bed too, yawning and slipping on a soft hoodie before following her son.
He is sitting eagerly in the lounge, waiting for her. Ariana smiles and goes to a high shelf, pulling out a few wrapped gifts. One of them is hard and rectangular shaped, while the other is soft and irregular.
"Thank you mommy." Liam says politely, taking the presents from his mom's grasp and setting them down on the floor.
"Go ahead baby." Ariana chuckles, watching as Liam's face becomes that of concentration and he rips the first package open. Inside lies two boxes of puzzles, one with a dinosaur picture on the front and one with an airplane.
"Thank you mommy!" Liam's eyes light up at the simple gift and he runs to cuddle Ariana. She lifts him onto her lap and kisses his nose, once again wishing him a happy birthday.
The small boy climbs down again and walks to the other parcel. Tugging it open, he finds a little penguin stuffie and hugs it to his chest tightly.
"I love it mommy!" He exclaims excitedly, his grin stretching from ear to ear.
"Now, what do you say about pancakes for breakfast?" Ariana asks her little boy, loving the way his whole face perks up even more and he jumps up and down in his pyjamas.
"Yes yes yes! Mommy you're the best!" He squeals making Ariana chuckle.
"I know I am bubby, why don't you go watch Spongebob while I cook them yeah?" She entices, grabbing the remote and flicking the TV on.
Liam nods patiently, bounding to the couch and flipping down.
The young mother turns around to the kitchen but her son calls out again.
"Where's Bella?" He screeches, and Ariana knows he can't stop thinking about his little friend.
"She'll be here soon."

After breakfast, Ariana gets Liam dressed in his favourite Levi jeans and Tommy Hilfiger sweatshirt for the party.
Both young people wait in the lounge for Justin and Bella to arrive, Ariana admiring her party decorating skills. She's hung blue banners and streamers everywhere, and tied big blue balloons to almost every furniture item in the room.
A knock on the door confirms someone's here and Ari opens it to reveal little Bella in a Disney princess dress.
"BellBell." Liam smiles at Bella who runs in and hands him a gift wrapped in pirate paper.
"Happy birthday!" She screams, toddling into Liam's arms to hug him before both children run off into Liam's bedroom.
Justin steps out from behind the doorframe and grins at Ariana. She can tell he is nervous by the way he scratches the back of his neck.
She finds it cute how he's still anxious to see her even though they've met up loads before and even been on a date.
"Come in." She steps back and allows Justin to walk into her home.
He gladly passes through the doorway and makes his way to the lounge, Ariana closing the door and following.
"Woah." Justin chuckles at the decorations, "That must have taken a while."
"Yeah." Ariana laughs, taking a seat on the couch and Justin copying. "Do you want anything to drink? Or eat?"
"No I'm okay." He replies.
"So, Liam's five." Justin raises an eyebrow and Ariana nods, giggling.
"Yeah. It seemed only yesterday when he was born." The young woman pouts and glances in the direction of where her son is located.
"I know, same with Bella. I can't believe shes growing up so fast." Justin admits, fiddling with his fingers.
"Soon we'll be dealing with grumpy teenagers!" Ariana laughs.
"Oh god don't say that." Justin laughs too, sighing heavily.
The two young adults chat for most of the day, only stopping when Bella and Liam are hungry or want to be taken to the local playground for a dance battle (which is very amusing for Justin and Ari may I add).
