As the wind rustled the the branches of the evergreens a dull thud echoed through the trees. The thuds continued to grow increasingly louder as incoherent screams echoed throughout the forest. Below the gnarled and ancient boughs of a fur tree, Jones dark figured continued slamming his head against the tree.
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" Jones screamed into the silence as he grabbed his head and threw himself onto the ground as blood streamed from his bloodied forehead. Squirming on the ground he screamed incoherently while tearing at the grass. Off to his right Jones heard the soft whisper of a voice from his past saying.
"Big brother?" Snapping his eyes open Jones sat up and swung his gaze around to the right before locking eyes with his younger brother. His orange eyes stared at the young boy in shock as he took in his brothers dark brown hair which was caked and matted with blood, the pale blue eyes which used to hold a spark of life now dull, and his brothers tan shirt soaked and stained with the blood of his dying moments.
"J-Jason?" Jones whispered as his voice broke and shook slightly at the sight. "Why did you let me die?" Said the childish voice of his Jones's younger brother as the child's blue eyes that once starred up a Jones for inspiration now held only pain and the embers of hate. Removing his eyes from the sight of his brother Jones growled as he tore at the grass.
"You're not real you little brat. Leave me alone you monster!" He screamed at the end of his sentence.
"Look at me.... Look at what happened to me!" The young boy shouted at Jones before pulling out the same knife that once was buried in his chest.
"I'm sorry..." Jones cried softly as he curled into a tight ball on the ground. "Sorry?!....You're sorry!" Jason's eyes changed from those of pain to those of hate as Jones spoke.
"I died because you let father kill me and all you can say is sorry!?" He yelled in Jones ear. As his young brother continued Jones felt the dark anger and rage from the corner of his mind start to cloud his vision.
"YOU FORGOT ALL ABOUT ME! Leaving my corpse to rot where he murdered me! And now I'm damned to torment you for handing your soul over to Alucard!" Jason yelled with a devilish smile on his face as his blue eyes stared at Jones.
'Alucard? Thats right, it's all his fault.' Jones thought to himself as he slowly uncurled and stood unaware that the figure of his brother was no longer next to him. Reaching down he wrapped his fingers around the hilt of his sword before tearing it from its sheathe and shouting.
"ALUCARD SHOW YOURSELF!" Waiting for several moments Jones whipped his head around searching for his grandfather.
"ALUCARD I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME!" Jones shouted again as he slammed the blade of his sword into a tree before ripping the blade out.
"My boy, there is no need to shout." Said the deep accented voice of Alucard. Whirling around Jones snarled at his grandfather he stood in front of him.
"Now, what is it you want? I was in the middle of something...important." Alucard said flatly as he leaned back against the tree a bit irritated.
"This is your fault." Jones growled at Alucard. "I'm sorry but I didn't catch any of that. By the way; are you feeling alright?" Alucard said as he tilted his head and took a step towards Jones.
"Your face is covered in blood?" Alucard asked boredly and in an unbothered tone as he reached towards Jones.
" Your fault." Jones mumbled repeatedly while gripping his sword tighter. Lunging forward Jones slashed upwards with his blade as he shouted.
"Give me my soul back!" The soft sound of steel lodging itself in flesh and bone followed Jones's actions and words before Alucard looked down at the blade lodged in his side.
"Ow, that was quite rude and painful ya know you little bastard." Alucard stated as he watched Jones eyes flicker to pure black.
"Oh that seems like an issue" Alucard grumbled to himself. Snarling Jones pushed up on the blade as it erupted in writhing black flames. Raising his hand Alucard shook his head and graveled.
"Naughty Naughty." Balling his hand up Alucard started grinning from ear to ear before slamming his fist down onto Jones head with a loud thud. Crumpling to the ground from the impact Jones groaned softly as he rolled over onto his side. Pulling the sword out of his side Alucard looked down at Jones while saying.
"You know son when i was your age I excelled at a sport, its competitive bitch kick." before kicking Jones in the side of the head. Going limp at the impact Jones was launched several feet before being picked up and slung over Alucard's shoulder.
"Alright, let's go find the midget." He said looking around before walking into the trees.
